@Thrane - sorry your thread got derailed.

You wanted to know if the EVH 4x12 speaker cabinet was sufficient for a 100w EVH 5153 for bedroom use. The answer is yes.

How do we know that? Because the EVH speaker made by Celestion is a rebadged Celestion Greenback. These modern Greenbacks are 25 watts. See the spec sheet below. We know the EVH branded Greenback says 20 watts on the spec sheet but it is widely known that that was a misprint on purpose. They wanted to be historically correct based on the 1960's version Greenback which was 20 watts. Was that a smart thing for Celestion and EVH to do? Not really. Why? Because it causes arguments on gear forums. Regardless, it is safe to say that the 4x12 EVH cab can safely handle the matching head. EVH used these cabinets exclusively for years and he is known for cranking his shit to the max. I personally wouldn't settle for that other cab, get the EVH cab. When you get famous and are gigging constantly with high gain power amp distortion then come back and ask the pro's on this forum what they would do.

Dude....... Not going to be a dick but that's the Chinese RI 25 Watt Version....... Not the EVH Speakers and not the Heritage speakers made in UK and rated at 20 watts per Celestions website and PDF and spec sheet.

You've just listed the specs for the Chinese RI......

They are completely different speakers my man. Again not here trying to argue over this and it's just common knowledge and facts that some may misinterpret as there are a couple versions of the Greenback in production. The specs you posted are the ones in the Friedman not the EVH Cab.

Vox also uses these 25 Watt versions. Its the Chinese version and the RI 25 Watt Greenback Version.

You can see for yourself from their website and PDF and even the wattage is different and the db sensitivity is too, they aren't the same speakers bro :dunno:

Again not trying to be a dick or misinform people or anything of that nature, just coming from a good place and letting people know to be mindful of the power handling they use and it matters for safety of ones rig/gear etc etc.

The Chinese Reissue 25 Watt you posted and linked to.

Just to refresh everyone from the thread that was derailed, this was the OP's question. I'm updating it because the OP followed up with he meant to say getting a new amp and was wanting cab recommendations.

Let's be courteous to the new guy and not derail this thread too. @The~Kid

Hi,
I'm about to pull the trigger on a new 4X12 cabinet EVH 5150-III Stealth .
What [cab] do you guys recommend?

I play only at home. Will a 2X12" work well with amp. For example the matching cabinet?

I would hope a matching cab would be able to handle the head it was designed for
I’ve never even had a thought like this ever in my life. All I care about is marbling ohms . My only though ever in this lol
