Can’t wait to try these. Some of the best tones ever came from hybrid amps. Marshall Valvestate, Jose mods with diodes and the million clones that followed. The Engl Rockmaster and Metalmaster were AMAZING hybrid amps that fell under the radar. Not to mention any SS boost pedal into a JCM.

I predicted when they first were announced that a bunch of snobs would turn up their nose at them, they would be released, and will be a tight fire breathing metal monster. We shall see!

As always, people need to keep a level head as far as these amps go. There is a reason American, 100 watt, hand wired tube amps go for what they go for and why Chiese, etc amps go for what they go for. Not going to replace anything but will create a more accessible amp that more people can enjoy, especially with Eddie passing.

Hopefully it somewhat lives up to the hype.

Look at the Scholtz Rockman and ADA MP-1. Who would have thought some of the biggest albums in history were utilizing those tones?

James designed the original 5150 and the Peavey Classic series amps. Hopefully these new ones will sound good. Though I'm not excited about the country of manufacture.
Along with the 5150 II, VTM, Triple XXX, and JSX.

Someone mentioned this as a budget amp, so the 5153 is boutique? Lol it's a good amp. It sure isn't hand wired and because it has 8 preamp tubes means it's a boutique amp? You can buy pedals with pre amp tubes in them. It's 200 bucks cheaper than the EL34 model. All made by fender including this one. I like others, have higher hopes than a blackstar ht50. Maybe it's just that. I'm not an amp tech but don't consider this any more budget than an $899 5153. Let's go JB!!!
