I use the radial passive switcher. Zero problems, works great and has some good features like a ground lift, phase inverter, and Iso switch if you run into noise problems. Wish it had an indicator light to tell which channel you are using but it is totally passive so no light and no need for power to it

I never played 2 amp setups. Plan to do so, how could you know if they are out of phase?
Youll know. Its unmistakable. Sounds like your amp is down the hall away from you.

I own a Radial Big Shot. It gets the job done if you're running stereo amplifiers, but when you compare each amp with itself without the ABY, you can definitely notice a slight tone degradation. I've been wanting the Lehle active ABY for awhile, but I'm not running a stereo rig anymore, except on occasion to goof around.

Cool, thanks for the warning.

I just got a Radial Tonebone Twin City and it works really well. The lift added a little noise to the one amp, but there's no tone suck.

I like the looks of the RJM Y-not, but I don't have any MIDI switchers so I'd have to either push the buttons instead or buy a MIDI switcher right?

Also, for just simply running both amps at the same time, I have an MXR KFK 10 band EQ which has two outs. Do you think that this can be usable or will it cause problems? I think the outputs may be opamp buffered, but the pedal itself is hardwire bypass. I figure that if I run the pedal on all of the time and flat EQ that it'll work effectively as a Y split. But I still don't have switching function or phase reversal.

No, it has TS jack on it as well to switch with an analog switch. Midi not needed.

If you get fancier later and decide to use Midi to change amps/amp channels, etc and want to use something like a Gizmo, the Y-Not works well with it.

And, I forgot about Radial products. I had a big shot and stomped right through it a crushed the switch. Not to say it is the switches fault. I do remember it having good isolation. I know they use Jenson transformers in the stuff made in Canada.....eh?

Like Pauley (the dude with his hands on some enormous mammary glands) said, you won't go wrong with Lehle either. Made in Germany like a BMW.

I guess once you get up to the level of the Radial Twin City and above they're pretty much similar results different features really? As in you aren't going to notice any better or higher fidelity sound, but what you are paying for is more features and expandability?

I also have a DI and Reamp box, which are along the same lines, you need a transformer and high input impedance to not lose tone through the reamping process. There are lots to choose from and lots of science to think about, which made the purchase decision difficult, but I am very satisfied with my purchases. Not really related to topic in any way, but this kind of reminds me of when I was shopping for those.

Isn't the Lehle stuff just a/b or a/b/c? I've never seen an a/b/y pedal from them.
