hey all, for anyone who has tried or has his sig guitar, how is his custom sd distortion pickup different from the standard. From reviews it looks to be not as hot as the standard but eq wise is it much different?

He uses 80's production Marciella Juarez wound Distortions that come with roughcast ceramic magnets, if I recall correctly. Let me find the photos.

The Seymour Duncan Custom Shop DDJ is hand wound. So each individual one of them is slightly different.
They are hotter than the Distortion SH-6.
I own a DDJ and have it in a Les Paul. Been about 30 years since I owned a SH-6. So not sure about sound differences.
I never seen anyone say anything about the sound differences other than they are not the same or they are really similar.

FWIW, every CS Duncan I've ever bought was wound by MJ. She's good.
