well,the Petrucci "comment" is definately familiar.i seem to remember reading that one too,but i'm pretty sure i read an article,also,about "Vai" not being very good,in Alexi's "book"...either way,it ticks me off that this kid would put himself up that high,with either guy in mind,because,imo,he's not even close! ...anyways,i'll have to look through some of the last year's worth of GW mags because i think the article,that i'm talking about,was in one of those issues...

I like Alexi, and I think that older COB is pretty damn good, but bashing Vai would be plain stupid on his part. In no way is he close to Vai's level, and I am pretty sure that Alexi knows that, even if he does say otherwise.

Check the magazine with Vai, Wylde, and Laiho on the cover. I believe that's the comment you're referring to, and I believe you might have mixed up who he was bashing.

i hear ya...i mean,lots of popular guitarists have "ego" complexes and i know that comes with the sudden increase in fame & money and all that jazz...i did find an "article" in the June 2008 Guitar World mag which has a "Children of Bodem/Alexi Laiho" interview,at the end of this article,the interview from GW,asks Alexi about a recent comment that Alexi made in which he "famously dissed" John Petrucci's shredding style.Alexi commented back,dismissing the seriousness of his comment,and he said, "i had a shitty day,and i guess i had to take it out on somebody".the original article,from another GW issue,i believe,had more "detailed" quote from Alexi.i guess,even for how much he may have been sorta kiddin' around,apparantly LOTS of other GW readers didnt care for it much and must agree that Alexi isnt that "high" up the guitarists ladder...no big deal! it's just that when i saw this thread on him,it reminded me of some of his commentary,in recent times...that's all.

hey,you must have been searching through the GW's minutes after i did!!! ...man,pretty i'm sure i've read an article about Alexi referencing "Vai's" playing abilities(in some negative sense),but,then again it's a good thing that i'm not a gamblin' man,coz i could be outta some money! .then again,maybe not??? never really caught on to the whole Children of Bodom "train" and dont see/hear what people are raving about,when it comes to them...but,to each their own......anyways,on to the next forum thread!!! who wants to talk about a band like,say,"Eidolon",from Canada??? ...now,there's some crushing "metal" guitar work!!!

I don't think they're going to "collapse" at all. Every team goes through a stretch of bad games. I'd love to see them win the division. Fuck the Yankees and Red Sox.

Take a look into their schedule, especially September, it's brutal. They have a bunch of games in September against the Yanks and Sox. I doubt they make the playoffs.

Everyone counts the Yankees out every single year and what's happened for the last 13 years? If they do miss the playoffs this year it's because they lost Wang. It's not easy to replace a pitcher who has won 19 games in each of the last 2 seasons.

And you know what's funny. Mike Mussina should have easily 15 wins this season so far. The offense has given him NO run support in his last bunch of games.
