I would only swap 1984 and Fair Warning

Van Cherone is acceptable in my book.

Any thing other than the pedantic drivel that emanated from Sappy Sammy is just fine.
I saw Van Cherone live (my only Van Halen concert ever). Kenny Wayne Shepard opened and really tore the house down. I thought Gary Cherone had a great voice and VH sounded badass

Sorry bro, I greatly dislike that album.

Oddly enough a few weeks back I forced myself to listen to it again since after many years since I have been on a VH kick lately and nope, nothing about it I like. OU812 ain't all that great either but it does have Black N Blue on it and Finish What Ya Started which I thought was pretty cool for Ed. That's why I ranked it above Balance. There's literally nothing on Balance that grabs me. Not even his guitar tone. Sounded like a band out of ideas at the time but just my opinion.

And of course VH III is just a stain. Biggest problem I had was where to put 5150, some good stuff on it but then there's some good stuff on Diver Down that outweighed it to me.

FUCK is the strongest album they made with Hagar in my opinion.

I wish they did a second album, it would have been so much better.

That was my hardest thing . I love both almost equally . The last 2 songs on each side of 1984 just blow me away most . Both sides lust end with Eddie just ripping and riffing so insane
House of Pain bridged and solo are just so my fav .He plays amazing but his sense of playing free at all times and channeling it … wow
I practice and learn all the modern techniques of today . Then I just improve freely like Eddie . He taught me to just let go and let the universe play you lol

I came from the place of having never really listened to Van Halen growing up other than the big radio hits. I thought Gary Cherone had a great voice, I suppose I was going into it in a very less judgemental angle because I had no real expectations. I will say though, I was sitting right in front and Kenny Wayne Shepard and his band tore it down. His tone was really something else and his band was cooking.
