I have a liberal daughter who wears her beliefs on her sleeve. I gave up changing her mind, so now I just listen and make no comments and she takes the hint...it ain't working. I only see her about once a month, I can tolerate it for that long. Anyone other than family with those beliefs don't get the same treatment.

I'd say she's a 3 with some 1 mixed in. She's from Chicago and has Jewish heritage so I think she feels like it's some rite of passage to put a check next to the D. The funny thing is is that she likes to complain about the way certain people act that are a result of liberal idologies and politics. Her daughters like to point out the hypocrisy... a lot.
Aside from the politics, I get along with her very well and she is a good MIL. That's why I don't engage it. Our relationship is pretty good and undramatic.

Well said. My hope is that the moderate leftists continue to leave the radical side behind and explain why. The only cure is if their (radical) numbers become smaller until the threat virtually disappears. But it only takes one radical leftist to take a valuable human life.

Boomer leftist politician - This is the Chuck Schumer's and Nancy Pelosi's who have been in congress since the middle ages and placate to the lowest common denominator to keep their seats. Their ideology generally falls within type 2 or 3 and they may or may not actually believe what they are proclaiming. Depending on where they fall in the hierarchy they will either be the ones to first promote the slogans or be the early adopters that fall in line before it hits the masses.

True Believer Politician - These are your AOC's, Jasmine Crocket's, and Zorhan Mamdani's who want to dismantle the US from within. For whatever reason they hate the country that provided them the opportunities they were given. They hold the same ideal as the true believer leftist and are the ones who help direct them. They incite violence from the true believer leftists with their rhetoric, but won't get their hands dirty. All while accusing the other side of exactly what they are doing.

There used to be another group, the socially conservative fiscally left labor/trade/union "blue dog" type of democrat, and is where my background is. These are literally extinct on the left - they all are maga now.

Trump moved the GOP to the center on a ton of issues and it's a good thing he did, because otherwise there wouldn't be any political muscle to fight against this far left insanity that's going on.

Honestly the politicians deserve their own category, because we have no idea if they actually believe any of the retarded shit they say.

She def watches CNN and loves Colbert/Kimmel. Our beef was because she brought up Charlie Kirk. She also is vehemently anti-gun, and has said out loud that she “couldn’t have a gun because she would shoot people”. I don’t really think she would shoot anyone, but it is concerning that she said so.

Just to add-
I asked her once if she wanted to go to the range with me and do some shooting, so that when she is bandying about with her big fat opinions, she would have at least have SOME idea of what she is talking about (she has never fired a gun in her life).
She declined. She came to America as a child, from Scotland where guns are not really a thing. Her parents never owned any as far as I know. Her father was a Knight Templar and her family was heavily into freemasonry so I don’t know if that was any influence?
The mass/school shootings really get her wound up, and of course she blames the gun and not the person pulling the trigger.
