Fun fact: only one Republican president since 1950 didn’t cause a recession and that was Gerald Ford who never won a presidential election. He was appointed VP to replace Spiro Agnew after he had to resign and then replaced Nixon after he resigned. He was still president during a recession, but he wasn’t technically president when it began, Nixon still was.
As a matter of fact you have to go all the way back to Teddy Roosevelt who left office in 1909 to find a Republican elected president who didn’t have a recession start while they were in office.
The oldest living person in America was born in 1910, oldest person on earth was born in 1909. That means no human living on earth has been alive and seen a Republican elected president that didn’t result in a recession. Also, don’t forget that list of Republicans includes the one who caused the Great Depression.
Republican economic policy serves one purpose, enriching the wealthy and draining the middle class and poor. It has not nor will it ever serve the economy as a whole or anyone other than the mega rich.
There is nothing remotely surprising about the massive economic clusterfuck trump is causing. He’s a republican. This is just what they do.
