How do you shut your Paypal account down and get your bank to decline Paypal withdrawals?

I personally don't think you packed the amp good enough. I typically wrap an amp in bubble wrap, box it, then put it in another box with foam all around it then seal it. I also wrap the amp in plastic wrap to make it water proof and protect the tolex. It usually costs me $50+ in packing materials and additional money to ship.

Nice pack job ..and yeah Reverb is dicey just had a set off BK miracle mans installed only to have my Tech tell me there stormy Monday's ...what is up with these people ? ..as a seller you have done everything by the book far as I'm concerned it's his problem that he doesn't want to wait for the amp he got a great deal on ,shipped next day , packed well ..

Just go to your bank and tell them to decline any and all transactions from paypal. Like stopping payment, or similar. They can shut down future transactions from anyone who has your account information by identifying a previous transaction. Just tell them it is concerning fraud protection, and that you need any attempted transaction by paypal blocked. It's what i call the nuclear option, in case a buyer tries to F you over, which hopefully won't happen..but in case it does, you do have recourse. The downside is no more paypal for you. But at least you aren't out 2K. If they get to your account before you do this, you can also claw the money back by claiming fraud or unauthorized transaction.

I'd call UPS. Under normal circumstances you can't have it rerouted at this point by using their online service. I'd call them and tell them you have reason to suspect fraud and to halt delivery and that you'll pay to have them return the package to you.

As long as its not on the truck for delivery no reason they can't reroute it. They reroute signature-required deliveries to nearest depot easily so...

I wouldn't re-route shit! Why? You did nothing wrong, in my opinion. I hate UPS myself, personally, but I use it exclusively through Reverb, because it's fast, convenient, and a heck of a lot cheaper using Reverb's rates.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but he can actually re-route it on his end with a "My Choice" account. I've re-routed a number of packages as the receiver, both UPS & FedEx. Hell, he can pick up the damn phone, call UPS and request to be held for pickup, and pick it up at his convenience.

As a receiver of a gazillion guitars, amps, etc., I know the inner workings of FedEx/UPS, USPS - there's options galore. In fact, back to UPS, having a "My Choice" option, you can schedule the drop off time. On FedEx, you can do the same. for $5, (online with a CC), you can schedule evening 5-8pm. Hold for pickup is free, both UPS & FedEx. This guy is just a dick, plain and simple. I would educate him of these options, and/or atleast ask him if he's even called UPS. YES, HE CAN CALL ON SUNDAY, I BELIEVE!

CALL REVERB tomorrow.. Did he pay via Paypal, or direct checkout?? Also, Reverb can also read your messages, and I guarantee they'll see who's the unreasonable douchebag. I just went through it with a buyer.

He used Paypal which is what I'm worried about. Paypal sucks ass. I already contacted Reverb. They said since I shipped it out the next day that I'm in the right and just not to contact him again. However, like someone said earlier, his hostility and unreasonableness gives me reason to believe that he might do something dirty to get his way.

He obviously has som anxiety issues. I think once he receives the amp and sees all is well he'll go away.

I hope you're right man. This wouldn't be the first time I get screwed by a frivolous buyer. This is the last time I'm going to sell anything online. It's just too much risk these days and people are just all too willing to lie and get away with things.

I don't accept PayPal on my Reverb store for this very reason. I don't have a PayPal account, either. They took a bunch of money from me over BS a long time ago and I refuse to do business with them. I will pay a PayPal invoice if I buy something but I do not accept them. Reverb has the PayPal option in their checkout - so of course it is there... but if the seller uses PayPal, I refund them immediately. This may be a violation of Reverb's policy, I don't know... but I am not doing it.

As far as how PayPal screwed me, I bought a BC Rich Bich on Ebay in 2005. The seller shipped me a box with pieces of wood in it. PayPal ruled for the seller because he supplied shipping information and I signed for the package. I no longer buy anything on Ebay either.

If you get it back, I still have my Engl Steve Morse to trade. I wont dick you around like this douche...

Just saying man if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's probably a duck... I'd get reverb involved now. There is buyer protection especially if you have pictures of the process but why I always pay UPS to package for me as I've had a buyer intentionally damage an amp and send it back as "defective". I have also had a buyer send me back the same weight in bricks and try to claim he repackaged the amp and it must have been switched and lost my shirt both times....

From my experience get reverb involved now and let them moderate the situation if that's what it turns into.... if it gets ugly give me a yell I work in LA every week.

I contacted Reverb and asked them to proactively warn the buyer about frivolous claims. I hope they can straighten the guy out because I'm tired of getting screwed by indecisive buyers. These are the photos of the packing and box I sent him in our conversation. You sold him an outstanding amplifier in what looks like mint condition, and the packing job is perfect, guy sounds like a pure Dickhead to me!

I did something like this a while back several times,my bank put in place "Stop Pays" and issued me a new debit card so nobody else I have done business with could screw me over as said above, but you might have to personally go to you bank to get this done, but you might get lucky and get it done over the phone...Good Luck and I hope it works out well and in your favor!! If that prick damaged my equipment intentionally I would be super pissed!!

Our nation in decline.... :(

Spoken from one of the best sellers I dealt with on this site. :)

I only deal with folks that have put in their time on a site, that way you know they are not just jumping in for a quick sale.

So I just checked tracking and realize that it was delivered on Friday! Not a peep from that guy since! I didn't even know because when I checked early Friday afternoon, it was still scheduled not to be delivered until tomorrow. That means that fucking jerk got the amp in only 4 days. All that fuss for nothing, and the son of a bitch didn't even have the honor to leave good feedback or at least acknowledge that he received it. What a fucking deadbeat.

Hopefully it's all worked out now and you can just forget about it.

It drives my wife nuts, but this is one of the reasons why I buy gear in bursts from Guitar Center. If I want a new amp/guitar/whatever, I end up buying several all at once from Guitar Center and will start returning them until I find the keeper. And I'll happily pay GC a bit of a premium even if I can find a better deal somewhere else because I know I can return it to GC without having to stress about trying to sell it down the road to some jerk trying to screw me.
