Any Axe FX Standard owners wish they got the Ultra?

If all you care about is the amp models and meat-and-potato effects the standard is the way to go. The amp models sound the same as the Ultra. The Ultra has better pitch and reverb effects in addition to a bunch of esoteric effects that you probably wouldn't use. The Ultra is also almost sold out and will soon be out of stock. We have plenty of standards.

Cliff posted recently that the Ultra stockpile is low. So if they run out, will they build more? Will there be a waitlist again?

Thats not my quote. I'm not in the least concerned if they are available or not, or if they build any more of anything.

Really, just want an Axe-Fx in a 1U with just amp/cab sims, maybe reverb - like a preamp-only. For say, $1K or so?

That would be sweet. Especially for those of us that already have a TC 2290 or other favorite outboard gear.

I'd get the Ultra, used if $ is an issue. Bottom line is if you're questioning it now, imagine wishing 6 months from now you had gotten the Ultra instead.

Seems like the Ultra is the answer even for a guy who's not huge on fx.

Hmm, I kinda want the Ultra for the extra stuff but then for the past year, I've gone guitar -> amp -> cab with a delay unit in the loop.

Sounds like you want the Standard as Cliff the builder also stated.
