Any LA guys going to the Guns show tonight?

Saw some of the footage that was secretly recorded. Axl sounds immense when he kicks off welcome to the jungle. Then you hear him sing paradise city, and it doesn't sound too good! Hard to tell really with mobile phone footage, and the crowd are quite loud. Still, good to see axl and slash on stage together and not ripping shit out of each other in the media!!

I thought Adler had cleaned himself up the last 2-3 years? He does always seem like he is one slip up away from a major drug induced bender though. I don't like his odds of nobody were in the room and a line of cocaine were left on the table. That said, absolutely love his drumming and think he was a huge part of their sound. He has been rock solid on a lot of the old guns stuff I have seen him play on YouTube as well. Pitty if back surgery does him in because I could seen an addiction to pain meds come out of that one.

Listened to a few clips, axl sounded surprisingly good. Way better than I would have expected.

So I have read a few articles about the show and I find it laughable that people Question adler's drumming ability citing his inability to play civil war. I watched the famous show where he supposedly played horribly and a part from being a little slow, his timing is on. They guy might actually be the biggest part to their sound outside of slash. I dug Sorum with the Cult but it felt so clinical with GnR. Probably the reason Axl has his hired Gun he has been using for the past decade behind the kit.

This whole thing looks like a cash grab though. Myles Kennedy might be off touring doing his own thing, here is a chance to make some serious coin. Doesn't look like Axl and Slash interact that much on stage. Punch the clock, get on stage very late, do the show, rinse, repeat.

+1

Cash grab or not who cares. It's cool to see. Like someone else mentioned I don't see myself buying a ticket but I'll keep up to date on it. I think most of us here grew up in the appetite era. Ya Axl's voice is gone but that's expected for the most part. If they make all the dates and show up on time I think that's all that matters.

Cash grab blah blah... they are musicians, what do you expect them to do but play music? Work on your car maybe? sell tile at home depot? They all kept making music and playing live when no one was listening, or very few, probably because they actually love making music and playing live?

They were doing that already with their individual projects and being fairly successful doing so. But putting this particular band back together is chiefly for financial reasons with a little "we ruled the rock world once, let's remember why" thrown in.

What they were doing was in no way comparable to what they had as a band... remember its guns and roses that allowed them to do side work.. not the other way around.

I dont know, call me crazy but I prefer iconic bands to stay together if possible; aerosmith, rolling stones, led zepplin, ac/dc etc.. the sum is greater than the parts.

And yes, bands play to make money with their music. You wouldnt?

Thought I read on blabber mouth that Adler cancelled this past weekend with his gigging band due to a surgery I believe, well before the GNR gig came up.

I thought Axel sounded better than I expected him to. And for Slash, I think he's a better guitarist now than he was in the AFD days.

Would be cool if Adler could get in the mix.

Yeah he has definitely improved a great deal as a guitarist.. I think sobriety helped this along.

A friend of mine down in LA camped out with some friends and got offered 10k for her wristband... So far I've only seen like 10 seconds of the show someone got in Instagram or something, was a little disappointed by no Adler

Tell me she took the deal?
Nope, she was there rubbing it in everyone's faces, pretty close to center stage as well... Can see her in most of the videos whoever up in the balcony took

Looks like they got some big football stadiums. And I'm sure it will sell out.

I read where there was no way to transfer ownership, you had to prove you were the original person w/that ticket. Not sure if they used ID or what. think I read it on tmz
