Anyone build an ISO cab recently?

I did a quick search but this site is too deep.. I know it has come up before but wondering who has actually built one? Doesn't have to be perfect as some sound escaping allows it to breathe but I'd be gunning for a 75% volume reduction. Wondering if you can share failures/successes/observations and maybe things like dimensions. Lots of videos on youtube but they aren't going to say " this thing ended up sounding like shit". I thought maybe enough space for a 4 x 12 but maybe a better play to go with a compact 2 x 12 with higher rated speakers so I can go one or the other. I'd put it on wheels and make it look good so that it fits into decor but it has to be worth it. But things like non parralel angles, a port etc... were these things significant or did a well sealed rectangle work well? My guess is that the boxiness we have heard in some clips comes from the box itself being too small and sounding bouncing all over.

Disclaimer: I have a Torpedo Reload and CAB - M. I could def do that but I also have a ton of mics and some pres and why would they just sit there doing nothing. Might as well be in a museum or sold if I am going to go with IR's as the one stop solution.

Funny you should ask this, I've been doing a lot of research on it lately and the main thing I've found is that most people / vendors have focused on making it quiet over making it sound good. The inside needs to be treated like you would treat a room to record in, even then you have a small box. The good news is that cabs in a box generally sound better than the speaker built into a box, but you need to see which frequencies build up and treat them accordingly.

Also the mic you choose would have an impact, you may have to try a different kind of mic vs a sm57 to help with the reflections.

You may find the 2nd half of this video interesting:

I have a Rivera Silent Sister that is ported on the bottom.
Don't be fooled tho that it's completely quite because the lowend from the port booms in the room. But if you're not going for power clip, it works fine.
I think the trick is using a Speaker that doesn't resonate a lot of midbass with the Cab.
Here's what I came up with using a Hellatone 30 which is a G12H Anniversary..

Exactly, in going for complete silence, there is almost nothing else it can be but boxy. I am ok with some type of porting whether physical or as a result of air gaps in construction. I'm going to dig in to that video.

That actually sounded really good to my ear. Had some G12H's I sold for nothing years ago because I felt they were spikey. Wish I had just broken them in. I believe the Hellatone's are broken in, really crunchy nice speaker. Didn't sound like the Rivera is too boxy there at all. IS yours ported? That might be allowing some of that bass to escape.

Sounds pretty good but I can still hear some of the boxiness...I've been watching too many videos now I can't unhear it..

Have you ever tried it with a e609/906? I also wanted to try with a small diaphram mic like a se7 to see if it would help with the reflections.

Idk if you've done this yet but it may help if not:

Listening in the car, I just have a lot of 80hz lowend in the tone. I can pull a little out if I want, but It's not boxy..
Boxy in this Cab is a resonance around 120hz that doesn't go away with certain speakers no matter what..
