Anyone ever just boost using an EQ pedal?

Thinking about giving Waynzo's pultec EQ a shot at boosting a cranked Twin and seeing how it plays out. Any tips?

Pultec style curve is typically used to boost. Nice Shelf/Bell combo. Great for tuning the low end.
Go parametric for the opposite (clean up / cut)
Never used it on an electric guitar…Not sure how Waynzo has his overlaps set up, I’m assume they’re more tuned for guitars.. 🤷🏻‍♂️ If you’re amp is a lil anemic in the lows it could only help..

Yes; I use EQ as a boost, tone shaper, or both.

edit: Source Audio EQ2 or Ibanez Pentatone

Yup, GE-7 is my favorite boost as well.
I don't need any more clipping, I just want a level boost to hit the front end of the amp a bit harder.
And why settle for a tone control when you can sculpt your tone with 7 bands of eq.

Yeah, sometimes. I almost always have a Boss GE-10 going, for a bit of tonal shaping and maybe just a touch of boost depending on the guitar, but for more drastic boosting I gravitate towards the classic Tubescreamer/SD1 territory for some reason. That´s just the sound and feel of boosted amps for me, but I´m an 80s dude at heart and this is mainly into stock Super Leads and similar crunchy channels.

yep, I use an EQ to Boost my IRJ ... to get a tad more gain and a scoop for the Death/Dime tone

Another GE7 user here. I would 9/10 times rather use a GE7 than any other boost pedal.
