anyone had any issues with Jet City reliability?

just curious. I haven't heard anything bad like some other "budget" amp manufacturers.

These heads have been on the market for a while now, so I'm hoping any bugs will have been worked out.

thoughts?

specifically the 50w/100w heads...no interest in the 20 watter

Mine has just recently began cutting down to about 1/2 volume after playing for about an hour. Not sure if it's heat or vibration related at this point, but it seems to be fine after being off for a while. Have talked to Jet City support about it and they gave me the contact information for their West Coast repair center. We'll see...

sounds like a tube issue...you're certain you aren't having a tube go bad on you?

this would be my guess as well ...

when they first came out the local guitar center had to send so many of them back that they requested not to carry them in that store. Many were breaking down right on the showroom floor. I dont know, maybe since then they have corrected the problem or maybe it was just a bad run that they got.

They're made in China, therefore disposable.

As is the opinion.

I love my JCA20, never had a problem and sounds great. I've also got the 112 cab and the same goes for it. I love those guys that have never even seen one let alone played one just toss them out because they don't cost a couple of g's. My favorites.

oh christ...for the 100th time, I'm sorry I can't afford gear from obscure boutique builders for $3000+ a pop.
That doesn't make me less of a guitar player.

I don't go into Cameron threads and talk shit.

That isn't directed at you Coopster...just venting.

hey bud.... don't worry, it happens..... remember this is Rig-Talk and there are a lot of people here that like boutique gear. Of course doesn't mean all of us like to talk down on non boutique gear, but it happens.

I have a diezel which is boutique, but I honestly got it because I bought it in Europe where I paid A LOT LESS than you pay in the states. Have an Egnater Renegade which is made in china, as well as a Fender Re-issue amp which is NOT boutique at all and they both sound AMAZING and I haven't had a single issue with them.

So for me, having an amp made in chine doesn't make a huge difference if it sounds good and the builder CARES for his product...like Bruce Egnater does for example. He has the chinese build line (Renegade, Rebel, Tweaker, etc) but he verifies the amps are in top condition...

yeah, that's the thing. I've owned USA made amps, I've owned Chinese made amps.
never had a reliability issue and never once considered either "disposable"

it's just irritating sometimes...

oh well, to each his own I suppose.

Thanks for chiming in guys.

Hey I just realized you are in the Dominican, Joey.

I have a girl that sits next to me here at work from the Dominican...she is SMOKING hot

I just bought a Vox VT-20 for $150, we buy cheap stuff as well

IMO all of the $300-500 amps are the same, there will be a dud in there now and then. Hell there are duds in $2000 amp lines.

The JCA22h needs to land soon or I'm snapping up a 20h and whipping out the iron.

I'm seeing this more and more on this site.

i have a JCA100HDM. broke down a few times...tubes they come with suck dick! after replacing them ( and a nice saturation mod) seems to be ok. Not a bad amp for $700.
