I have a TAT model. They are fantastic guitars IMO, but I've been arguing in a thread over at sevenstring.org where some people say they've had bad experiences - bad fretwork, etc. The build quality is really good, and the PH-R is a decent pickup, but you'd probably want to replace the mid/neck pickups. A fair amount of people seem to prefer the dellinger or horus models, probably because of the woods. I already have some mahogany guitars so the TAT's alder is a nice alternative.

EDIT: ohhh, you were eyeing the TAT Special. Whole other beast. Expensive, but I want one too.

Over all Caparison makes some nice guitars, but like any other production brand you'll find the occasional lemon. It happens to all manufacturers, which is why they have warranties

I'm going to Japan next year.. Maybe I can find some shops that have them instock to try..
I remember a street in Tokyo when I was there last time that had a bunch of guitar shops.

When and where in Japan?

Back when it had EMGs. I have Duncans in it now, but I'm thinking about putting the EMGs back in... I also put the proper black pickup selector screws on after I took the pic.

very nice man. What Year? I am looking for a TAT right now. GASsing hard for one to backup the old Angelus! Was thinking about Iceberg or Red sunset.
