+1. This is sooo true.

trace is a class act!!!!

Trace I love the way you handle this stuff. I have to say that I wish other boutique amp and guitar builders had the same sort of respectful attitude towards their customers.

I appreciate you taking the time to post Steve and thank you for the kind words. When you look at it on the most basic level our customers are not here because of us but rather we are here because of our customers (IE: if we did not have customers we would not be in business). I know this may sound contrived or corny but the truth is we treat people the way we would want to be treated.

I have had several nightmarish experiences with custom guitar builders recently who have been unbelievably rude and made me as a customer feel as if they were doing me a favor by providing me the service I paid for. I have always been more than respectful towards these folks and have received extremely poor customer service in return. Never returning emails... being promised delivery of a neck in three weeks and it is now almost a year... delivered a partially finished neck with the wrong nut size... etc. etc. etc... Unfortunately, I believe that the guy I'm currently dealing with, who has $600 of my parts and $100 in deposit for work, is only going to respond to litigation...

I am sorry to hear that and I hope that it can be resolved without legal action. We make every effort to try and please people as in the end we want happy customers verses unhappy customers.

It is refreshing to see your attitude towards customers just when I was convinced that customer service was DEAD...

Many thanks again for taking the time to post and I do appreciate it. Have yourself a great weekend Steve and I hope everything works out for you!! :)

Thanks again
Trace

I'm apologize if I did not articulate this properly in my prior post;
The amp did in fact sound fine/just as it should and it was working 100% perfectly when it was shipped (see prior post). It would not have been shipped otherwise as no good would ever come from that. Naturally we would prefer that this never occurred but as it did the very best thing we can do is stand behind our product 100% and make it right, which is what we did.

I understood that, I just didnt communicate that I did understand you very well I guess. Like I said I thought the seller should have not sent it like that after I read your post about how those things went out over time after the amp was sold. The amp sounded like that from the get go when I got so it happened to the seller after he bought it from you and then he sold it to me that way. I dont know that he did it knowing that there was something wrong with the amp and I tend to not think so because he later emailed me and said you guys fixed it... actually he probably just one day played the amp said I dont like the way this sounds anymore and sold it. However it did sound pretty bad so I dont know why he didnt get you guys to look at it before he sold it.

Anyway, I just want you to know I did understand what you said and I by no means think you guys let the amp go out from Voodoo like that now.

Thanks for your note here Trace. I didnt mean any disrespect, your reputation is good with alot of people and think you are great guy and company but I have to honest with my experience.

I appreciate you voicing your experience as it gives us the opportunity to address your concerns. Our customers are very important to us as we are here because of our customers and I would like to do what ever it takes to make you happy.

Thats one thing I cant figure out about these forums.... people tend not to say trully what they think sometimes for fear making someone mad or losing a sale. I understand that on one level but for me.... I want to know the good along with the bad. I have read many good things about your amps and Pete Laramee, who hangs here and I respect him a ton, he loves his Marshall you guys modded. So my view isnt completely jaded, that said when Im looking at certain amp I want to know the good and bad so I can make an informed decision. You say you guys fixed that sitution and given you reputation Id take that to the bank. The thing that whole sitution spoke of the most of was the seller who to his credit did take the amp back and it was you who made it right with him but an amp that amp was sent out sounding really bad and by no means should have been IHMO.

I'm apologize if I did not articulate this properly in my prior post;

I just had to be honest with my experience so someone could at least see that I had an issue that one time but that you took care of it and that can sway people either way but at least they have that knowledge and it's just not whipsered in background so they never know.

Again I appreciate you voicing your experience and you are certainly no wrong for doing so. Customer feedback is very important to us and I would much rather have the opportunity to address it than have it whispered about in the background :)

Again no hard feelings and wish you all the luck. You obviously are making some great amps as some great pro's are using them.

I am glad I had the opportunity to address this. Have yourself a great Friday and an even better weekend! :)

Thanks again

Steve

I completely agree! There are quite a few builders out there who be schooled by Trace big time about how to be professional. :thumbsup:

I've owned a Makoplex as well as a Custom 100. Honestly, neither amp did much for me. I bought the Makoplex because I borrowed danhops' for a while and loved it. However, the one that I bought didn't sound nearly as good as the one that Dan had... :aww:
I didnt know that. I thought my Makoplex sounded really good, and I would've kept it but curiosity got the best of me so I sold it to buy another amp that was sold shortly after I got it. :(

No more amp GAS for me!!!

That's strange... I owned an early Makoplex (#14 I think) that sounded great. I sold it, but then got gas for another one. So I ordered a new one from Andrew, waited a year to get it and it sounded like ass. :thumbsdown: I sent it back for a refund and he said there was something wrong with the NFB pot, but the whole thing seemed very odd to me. They're built so meticulously that I'm surprised there's a lot of variation.

I got a dumb question. Does the Mako stuff come with a footswitch? I ordered a MAK2 a while back and forgot to ask Andrew about it. I sent him an email but he hasn't responded yet. He must be busy.

It does, its hooked up with a Midi Cable, the one that I received though was a modded Custom 100 footswitch to incorporate the 2 channels. Not sure what current Mako's ship out with.

Its either a love hate with these Makos' I personally like mine, but GAS always gets the best of me and I end up getting rid of stuff just to try out new things. Not sure if the old ones had a "Freak Knob" but the newer ones with it make a HUGE difference, if you tried one without it, you need to try the new ones with it. Without that "freak Knob" i would probably be really disapointed in the amp. I brought mine over to Josh's(jcj) house where we were able to crank it and it really brought it to life. The master volumes actually functions how I would want a master to function, and not something that goes from 0 - 5 in a slight turn like the Splawns. However, if you do not like dark amps, do not bother with the Mako's.

I didn't feel the MAKO was too dark, as long as the freak knob was set correctly. I dug the hell out of that amp. As a matter of fact, we may need to talk.
