I stated my feelings about the Suhrs I have in an earlier post and for me they are a great fit and are the best guitars I have found for ME at a pricepoint I'm willing to pay, but you can always find someone who isn't digging something...well actually anything...anyone not diggin their les paul? anyone not digging their Fender Strats, or the Schecters in a post above praising them? Anyone not diggin brand XYZ amp? I mean really, is there a point to speaking negatively something known and established to be a fine instrument & manufacturer because it just doesn't do it for YOU?
That's the point I guess, you want people to agree with you that others don't like something too? Why??? And of all the crap products available and imported crap guitars (and some US ones too) you pick out Suhr guitars? I would say that lots of professional musicians disagree with you too and their Suhrs do it for them (Scott henderson and Guthrie come to mind along with Pete Thorn and others) Sorry but this kind of sh*t just annoys me after a while and I'm seeing more and more of it on Rig Talk. OK to say how do you like your Suhrs to get feedback both positive and negative if you're thinking of making a purchase but the whole point of this is to get people to agree they don't like something and agree with you in public? WTF! Oh I tried one one time in a store a long time ago in another galaxy in a land far far away and it was or wasnt this that or the other... Sorry but I think it's BS. BTW most of the Japanese and Korean Ibanez's I've tried over and over again were sh*t and sounded dead and lifeless and had no tone or soul to them. I've tried many, after all these years I own one - a Jem 777, and the guitar that feels anywhere near my Suhrs cost $3700...about 75% MORE than my Suhrs on average. Rant over....That is all.
You purchased it used AND it is 2 years old?IHateRap":1ip87p2x said:I bought an M2 from the classified section here about 2 years ago. It's a really nice guitar and everything but I'd rather play my Ibanez rg770 or rgt220. The Suhr sounds really tight and focused and the feel is relentlessly stiff...even with 9's. There's a certain percussiveness to everything. Am I nuts? My 770 and 220 are warmer sounding with a much more relaxed feel. I'm thinking about losing the Suhr and picking up this:

The Modern kinda feels like a Wizard with slightly thicker shoulders, whereas the Anderson seems to be like the older ESP necks but more refined in the areas that I needed it. Dumb comparisons, but it's the best way I can describe them at the moment. I also prefer the finish on the Andersons. The Suhr feels like it's bare wood, and I could never jive with that like a lot of people can. Both companies are top notch, so it really comes down to what options you choose and what style of pickups you like, IMO. Both sound very resonant to me. The Suhr tends to be a bit more "in your face," and the Anderson tends to be a bit "woodier."

Why don't you send it in to us to have a look at? Probably a really bad setup or some other issue.![]()
Dont forget Stainless is only an Option.PBGas":1m3nq0si said:They are beautiful guitars. I've tried a couple of them and I liked them. I'm still unsure as to the feel of the stainless frets though.

My issue I guess is the way the post is worded...again if you think they are stiff and you can't jell with it that's fine, that is why there are 100's of different manufacturers guitars to choose from, but to phrase it any else not digging their XYZ just invites the me too's who may have limited or no experience just to join in. Another thread on here is bashing them and Andersons because of their price, but look at any similar hand built top quality product and the price especially on the Pro series is quite reasonable and in line and so are the customs (look at a PRS custom). Just look at all the Fender CS guitars over $3k. Sorry if I took my vent out on your post but I'm seeing more of this lately (just saw "are GFS pickups garbage?" post-maybe, maybe not but really is that the way to go about it?) and I just think we can be more mature and objective in the way we phrase these posts, especially in light of a manufacturer that has a sub forum on Rig Talk. It also invites bashing from those who will just hate them because they are expensive, or limited, or whatever. It's all good, hope you find something that works better for you.
