Anyone Play/Used to Play A PRS SC250?

I own a Singlecut SE and have been quite suprised with how it sounds/feels, after upgrading the pickups to WCR's...I know though, I'm missing out on the additional resonance of the SC250. I'm trying to decide between this guitar and a Les Paul of some sort...although I think I prefer the 25" scale length for downtuned riffs/the added tension vs. the flopping around of the Les Paul scale length. How do SC250 owners - past and present like this guitar?
 
I love mine. Better than any LP I've ever played. Thick and warm. Plus it actually stays in tune.

I had 2 sc250s at one point. I sold one to get my VH4, but I'm close to getting another one.
 
Cool. How do you like the pickups on it? ...My other guitar player has a Les Paul Studio...the thing is heavy and not nearly as nice to play on as my Singlecut SE.
 
I think they are really good, but I prefer McCartys with different pups. They are the thickest sounding PRS's, and the neck carve fits me like a glove. They are not as thick as lesters, ( real ones, not studio's ) but much clearer for high gain, and they absolutly stay in tune - Jim

Which are the thickest? SC250's or McCarty's?

McCartys :yes: BUT, the SC's have a different neck carve that you may like, I have huge hands, and like the Mc's better, the SC's are a little slimmer, and the stock pups in the SC's are better for heavy. The McCarty bridge pup is no good for heavy, I have one with a Aldrich set, and one with a Tremonti, and the stk neck pup, they are killing machines :D

The pick-ups are great. I like them better than any other PRS pick-up I've played. They are technically SC-250 treble pick-ups by name, but from what I've read, they are basically the same as Tremonti's.
 
The Tremonti model has an INSANELY nice neck shape, and great pickups. It is also a bit cheaper than the SC250s, but it only comes in black. :D
 
The tremolo's add thier own bit of res. I think mainly becuse of the springs attached to it. But I wasen't real fond of them. They dont stay in tune like a floyd. I have gotten away from tremolo's on my later axes, but had them on some earlier cu's that I had. The models that dont have them seem to have a slightly sharper attack to them, and no tuning issues whatsoever. You might compare the tone of the trem. vs stop tailpiece, and see what you like better, they are in fact different. The trem's stay in tune unless you are really working them hard. I would much prefer the Tremonti with the adj. bridge& tailpiece. It is a awesome guitar
