Anyone tried to use DC blocker to get rid of power transformer noise?

I have an amp that amplify its power transformer noise through speaker. I'm considering trying one thing out before i check with a guitar tech. I did some research and came across something called "audiolab dc block". However, i didn't find anyone using it with a guitar amp, just speakers with noisy power transformers in general. Is it abnormal to use such thing with a guitar amp? Can it even work?
 
Something else is wrong with the amplifier. I suggest taking it in to a tech.

Agreed. And the noise you are experiencing @batrah could be any number of things. Can we assume you've already checked tubes, cables, wall power, interference, etc. etc.? Oh and welcome to R-T :yes:


Power transformers run on 120volts AC.

"How an Amplifier's Power Supply Works:

Step1: The Power Transformer: Takes the high-voltage AC from the wall outlet and scales it down to the specific, safer AC voltages the amplifier needs (e.g., 12V, 24V, or higher for tube amps).

I will give update if it actually does anything in case someone wanna know. If it doesn't do anything then i'm going to a tech
