Anyone use 10-52's in standard tuning?

I used to use them (actually 10-54...BB King sig set) but went back to 10-46 when I switched over to DR Tite Fits since most of the stores I deal with don't stock them. Haven't given it any thought lately but now I'm curious to try them again...I may have to mail-order a few sets.

I like 10/50's for standard tuning on a 25.5 scale guitar. 11/52's on a 24.75 scale.

Switched to them about 5-6 years ago and love them Funny thing is, I played 9/46's for many. many years. Tried them again a few months back and I couldn't play shit.

Exactly. I used that Ernie Ball 10-52 Skinny Top Heavy Bottom set for a good few years for everything from Eb to drop Db, D and Drop C. I tried other strings at the time but those were the best. Lately I've been into Daddario's more and getting into higher guages. I tried playing a friends guitar that had my good ol' set on em and I couldn't play the thing. Well, not so much that I couldn't play it, but the top strings were too light in comparison to the bottom, just didn't feel right to me.

Doesn't GHS make a set like that, TNT or something?

I used to use those on my Les Paul, now just regular 10s.

I forgot to mention that the guitar i threw the 10-52's on is an Anderson Cobra which has a 24.75 scale length.

Just slapped a set of EBalls 10-52 on my SG- perfect for dropC, occassionally wander up to dropC#
Loved it so much I changed out another axe with the same set.
My Les Paul goes ZW 10-60, great set for heavy full bodied tone. I didn't want to go that extreme with the SG

standard 10-46 can only go to dropD, C# is pushing it due to slackage, dropC is not good
