Apologies to Mike Fortin... can I have a mulligan?

I gotta say that sounds pretty RAWK

Haven't had much experience with Fortin, mostly seen modded stuff.

Thanks for the posts, enjoy!

In my excitement after getting the Diavlo head yesterday, I made a very hasty recording on my new phone. Well, as some of you heard, the recording clipped all over the place and generally sounded shitty. Today I was thinking that was not a very nice thing to have out there for Mike. He's such a great amp designer, and these new Randall amps of his sound so amazing - I was not doing him any favors with that first clip I posted.

So, this morning I coughed up $4.99 for GarageBand and put a Sennheiser 609 in front of the cab. This new clip still features my lame playing, but at least you can hear more of the amp's great low end and awesome chunk that cuts through a mix wonderfully.

Anyway, sorry again to Mike, and hopefully this will make up for that other one. I'm going to replace the crappy clip in the other thread with this one as soon as I post this.

That sounds great. Thanks for the clip. The ones from NAMM were hard to hear because they could not crank it.

What Channel were you on when you made that recording? What level was the gain on? How was it EQ'ed.

Thanks again. I almost bought one last year after the fortin mod but heard they were changing the series a bit. Im glad I waited. I really wanted a 3 channel 100 watt version, and now they have it !!! Adding the RG13 pedal and I can have a killer tube tone as well and the classic RG100ES tone !! What GOD did I please?

Thanks again, fellas. It's quite a great little amp.

Thanks for the kind words. And you are right - the Randall amps coming out this year are a bountiful feast!

In the first clip the EQ (including Presence) knobs were all set to noon, using the dirty channel with the gain boost engaged. Channel Volume at 1 o'clock, channel Gain knob at 2 o'clock, Master at 2 o'clock.

In the second clip I posted later in the thread, everything was the same except I bumped the Presence up to 2 o'clock.

Is this the 50 watt 2 channel version?

Yes, it is, the RD50 head, 2 channel, EL34s. Sorry, I forgot to mention that here. I discussed it in the other thread, but I should have stated it in this one, too.
