The sad part is that if we all spent the kinda time we we spent worrying about gear on something worthwhile like practicing it'd be a better way...polaris20":2hxbblpd said:Spaceboy":2hxbblpd said:The Axe FX isn't a tube amplifier, and it was never meant to be... People are diehard about that "irrelevant" point because A. it models tube amps, and B. FAS markets its ability to model tube amps. I don't know why FAS fanboys are so diehard to ignore this relevant point.![]()

It's a modeler that models tube amps. Are you really that shocked that it's compared to........tube amps?
That being said, this thread in general is a troll thread for sure, and the FAS Axe units ARE great units. I don't own one because I have a mental roadblock to spending $2200 on a modeler, and would rather have a couple amps for that, despite the obvious disparity in versatility. Even on my POD HD500 I generally only use 2 or 3 models, tops, and the HD, while obviously not as good as the Axe is, is still far and away better than every other modeler, IMO.

I worry about gear while I'm practicing... so no lost time. Actually, the only time I really think about gear is while I'm practicing. Maybe I need to worry more...degenaro":3ajz5te2 said:The sad part is that if we all spent the kinda time we we spent worrying about gear on something worthwhile like practicing it'd be a better way...
