And just when you've got it dialed-in the way you want - here comes the AxeFX III !

" And just when you thought you loved your Mesa Mark IV - Here comes the Mark V, then Mark VI etc....... lol"

The difference is most guys kept their Mark IV

I think most people bought the V then sold them early enough to go back to the IV, wonder if that's going to happen with the Axe

Actually you are probably right here.....

I only know from firsthand experience   Kind of wish I didn't sell the IV off a few months later though  I think what some people are going to do is buy the Axe II, say its "too much for their needs" turn around and sell it while they can, then buy up a used Ultra because "it's enough for them".. same thing with the Ultras vs Standards.. just now it's going to be more affordable to go back

Funny how a Ultra a few months ago was "too much for their needs", so if a Ultra is too much, is the II Overkill for most people?

And do you seriously think that the thirty something Axe Fx on Ebay represent even close to most of the Axe owners. Most will keep and not get caught up in the new thing frenzy. This is just a fringe gut reaction and most on Ebay are just testing the waters. Axe Fx units will all be fine because they sound great.

Who are you arguing with? You really do not even know my stance on the subject, you have only read a few of the fun jabs I have made since this whole thing has been going on the last few days. You are so wrapped up in defending your Axe FX it is humorous. The only really serious thing I have found throughout this whole thing is some Axe FX users are so freaked out that some negative light is being shed on the unit and they have to go to war to defend it. Like you have some personal stake in the unit other than it is a piece of equipment. It has just as many flaws as any piece of equipment has, nothing is perfect but some of you blatantly defend and try to convince that it is. I have owned two in the past, they are decent units and they have their use. However users like you make me personally not want to be associated with the item just because of your blatant posts trying to tie up any negative about it. You should really stay on the Fractal forum where this behavior is more favored.

I saw a Johnson "Millennium" w/FS for sale at a pawn shop for $200.00 a couple of months back. The AxeFX will be no different.

This really happened (at The Happy Hocker) to my friend Mark in 1979:
Q: "Yes sir, I would like to sell this guitar"
A: "Let me see here... Hummm... It's pretty old and beat-up. What year is this guitar?" (as though he didn't know)
Q: "It's a 1969 Les Paul... It belonged to my dad"
A: "Well, it's really old, and boy does it smell bad! I doubt I would be able to get much for it...but let me go speak to my boss."
A: "Well, I spoke with the owner, and I really had to twist his arm a bit - but I got him to go $300.00 on it. That's really good considering its condition. If the finish weren't so discolored, and maybe if the chrome wasn't so worn - we could give you more for it."

Yes, he sold it!

(Correction - it was a 1969 model)

+1

At the end of the day, it's all just "stuff".
