I have been a member there for like 12 years. I've neer been banned. Never even warned.

Look, I have my moments but not a complete asshole who is unwilling to shake hands and move on, and that's the ONLY reason I bothered to respond to you. I got your point, and not disagreeing that I am a very watered down version of what you said (in some respects), but I obviously contribute a lot more to the forum than this and have been doing honorable business for years. Look, the reason for my post was because I have been on the receiving end of one of your tirades, and did not appreciate it one bit, to say the very least. They seem to be happening quite frequently lately, and I felt the need to speak out, even if it was on someone else's behalf. It's not necessary to address others like that, and it certainly doesn't make RT a better place. And to be honest, I find it cowardly considering the safety that anonymity provides for people online who most likely wouldn't speak like that to your face.
I've seen you around here for years and I know that you have more than this to contribute to the forum. That being said, I'm not the kind to hold a grudge. I appreciate that you got my point and am willing to move on. Consider this a handshake. Peace...

To think that any single issue is a defining characteristic of any particular belief system is hilariously ignorant. I'm anti-abortion so liberals think I'm some bible thumper which is pretty funny when you see me wearing my "Dear God, Fuck You!" shirt. I'm not a big fan of guns so conservatives think I'm some tree hugging pussy which is pretty funny considering I used to develop software for cruise missiles, have trained and deployed with Marines (as a civilian), and I've shot plenty of times.

Anyone that thinks there is any appreciable difference between the Democrats and Republicans needs to examine the direction this country has steadily been taking for a very long time. Regardless of who has lived in the White house and what party has controlled the Congress and the Supreme Court, we have steadily been giving up our rights, alienating our allies, empowering our enemies, giving up our jobs, and increasing the wealth and power base of an incredibly small number of very wealthy people at the expense of everyone. The political parties spew all manner of crap. The party leaders love it. They get to do whatever the fuck they want to enrich themselves and their cronies. They use devices like health care, abortion, etc. to polarize the population to ensure that they maintain control. When you examine the voting records there is almost no fucking difference at all other than some very highly publicized bills from time to time which are these very polarizing issues. Consider yourself distracted.

As a reforming repub (turning libertarian), I pretty much agree with everything you posted... except I dunno why you would be anti-gun. There have been a bunch of news stories about people who were murdered in the U.S. with knives lately. Are you "not a big fan" of knives as well? Seriously... guns aren't anyone's REAL problem right now. A government that doesn't answer to its citizens, and a bunch of citizens and government officials alike who are as responsible as a heroin-addict are our biggest problems. Nothing else even comes close. Believe me or don't... 300-400 million privately owned firearms are about the ONLY thing left keeping us all from being no more than ants on the sidewalk to the machine (and just barely at that). Ask yourself WHY else would some politicians be so bent on attempting to restrict those rights more and more? You think that they actually care about our safety???
