Man.

Bark At The Moon was so amazing. I was never much into Randy, and my teacher recommended vids of Ozzy's concert during that 1984-1985 era. Jake was awesome. Such a character, such an immense player. I'll never forget learning the solo to the titular song on BATM.

Anyways Ultimate Sin is the better album rofl.

Better songs, better production, arguably better cover art too

I voted for Bark at the Moon, I discovered Jake in the late summer 1985, so almost 40 years ago.
Really loved "Centre of Eternity" which in europe was known as "Forever".

I think Jake nailed what we in germany call "Zeitgeist" - being in the right place and spot at the right time.

If you look back to most of the other bands of that era, like Dokken (Lynch) or Ratt (di Martini),
Jake fits in so well. Randy didn't, and Zakk would be to early around this time.

I do like the songs and solos on "Ultimate Sin" - Jake made a lot of progress since BatM.
Playing melodic two handed, something what Vito Bratta did years later.

There's a guy from poland (Maciej Stelmach) on You Tube, playing all Ultimate Sin solos in a row.
8 minutes of fun, man, really like the "Fool like You" solo 😊
