The bassist couldn't make it to the gig at a large local campground, and our back-up had a gig of his own.
I informed the people and they said that they didn't care, so we did the show and,... after the first song, the crowd went wild cheering and clapping! We played the same set list we had planned, mostly Zakk Sabbath style Ozzy, Led Zep, Hendrix, Priest, AIC, etc. People kept coming and coming from all over as the day went on until we had about 100 dancing and cheering. Talk about inspiring gigs.
I used my O.G. Boogie Mark 2C+ and it slays beyond all anything. That fucking amp is more 3D than anything, so incredibly articulate and clear sounding I was in awe. The drummer shook his head and asked me, "How do you do it?" "It's the amp!"
I must say I won't ever worry about having a bass player ever again.
I told them we'd deduct the bassist's money but they paid us in full, plus the crowd threw in extra and we got 3 future gigs from people wanting us to play their parties.
