The XR16 delivers to me on tuesday but I want to try to get an idea of how simple or not my setup will be. I've downloaded the app but can't use it yet as you need to connect to the unit. Is anyone really familiar with it? I bought this to be able to control my own monitor mixes since I'm tired of fighting this issue on some venues.
Here's what I'm most likely wanting to do:
Channel 1 and 2: I'll take a regular monitor feed from FOH/Monitors. This will be a normal rest of band mix that I usually ask for. I will be able to control volume on this with the XR16.
Channel 3 will be my vocal mic
Channel 4 will be my talkbox mic
Channel 5 will be my guitar (Fractal AX8 direct)
Channel 6 will be my acoustic via a DI
Channel 7 may be an ambient mic if I feel I want one.
Now I'm hoping to run channels 3, 4, 5 and 6 out the aux sends and back to FOH/stage snake so they have my signals like usual. I need to make sure the XR16 does not alter the signal whatsoever...pretty much a pass through.
Main outs L/R will go to my Sennheiser G3 in stereo for my ears.
I need to be able to eq those 4 channels I'm sending to the auxs but have the eq only affect what I hear and NOT FOH. Is there a preset or anything similar in the XR16 to get me started? This is my first go round with doing something like this to be able to control my ears on stage. Any advice/help is appreciated.
