Bernie Rico Jr guitars still in business

His dad would be ashamed at how he has been dicking customers around for a while now. I have seen some of the nicest work come out of his shop though, just really nice stuff. It's a shame that he is having problems but its no excuse, hopefully nobody gets screwed out of their money in this fiasco and eventually receives their orders and are happy with end result.

Having problems? The dude appears to be suffering from some ongoing, acute mental illness. I'd say that's a pretty damn good excuse for fucking up his business. While I certainly hope no one loses any money over this, and I'm sure I'd be super pissed if I was out cash under these circumstances, I do think I'd also have some compassion for what the guy is going through, which is obviously extremely serious...

The Rico son had a reputation for partying in the past and screwing off the BC Rich brand the father had tried to leave him. Before this incident last I had heard was he had his shit together so it makes me wonder how much of this recent incident could be drug related?
 
I post on another forum where someone had some better knowledge of the situation that came from Rico's family (believe it was his wife), from what I gather there was a suicide attempt. The thread was deleted because things were getting out of hand with some seriously inhumane people.

Does it suck that a lot of people got dicked over? Absofuckinglutely. But the dude obviously has some issues and when you're trying to kill yourself, it might be a good time to get help instead of building guitars. Thankfully it seems he's doing that.

Hope all turns out well for everyone involved.

Yeah, severe mental illness is nothing compared to having to wait for a guitar
 
not trying to make light of whatever his situation is but there are people with thousands of dollars tied up that have had no info given to them for up to 2 yrs. I wish Bernie well as I have been a customer of his in the past. poor choice of wording - I am not trying to say guitars are more important than someone's health
