Best Axe Fx vid I've heard

Sounds decent, but not for the ridiculous price for that robot unit. I could make a real tube amp like the EVH 5150 III sound as mediocre as this example of the Axe FX.

5153 = $650 used
Decent cab =$500 used
Decent pedalboard = around $500-$750

Same price, see?

I had a 5153, and a good cab and a very good pedalboard. I sold it all and went to an Axe and don't regret it at all.

Different strokes....I think the 5153 sounds like shit....even if it is a 'real tube amp'...

Sounds like an ADA. Bottom end sounds flubby and synthetic.

This! I like his playing fur sure. I still think Mark Day has the best Axefx tones going. Hands down

Easily the best Cubase Amp Rack tones.

Almost as good as these:

For that album they only used the Axefx to get their dry di into their daw via the Axefx's s/dif out, and the tones were all Amp Rack.

After listening to it a few times I agree. But I like the lead tones he's getting.

Of course if you were going to use an AxFX live you'd need a power source, cab and midi footswitch. Waaaaay over the price of a good amp, cab and pedalboard.
Just saying'

Anyway, I'd like that new Line 6 board. Cool stuff. I'm sure I could get it to work for me well. Got to have a nice P.A. and monitors though. That's the downside for me. I show up at a club and the p.a. sucks so my tone sucks all night. If I have a rig I can just crank it and use the p.a. for vocals. Anyway. Tools.
