Best CHEAP rack tuner.

Dude, you ain't the only one that's not gonna fork $400 for a rack tuner.. I know I will never do.

I got a Behringer tuner (pedal) that does the job fine. Got with the rack tuner if the price floats your boat, It'll do the job like the DTR did.

Hell, Neil Young never tunes his guitars.

OP. you ask a question then don't get answers you like and bash us for our opinions? I gave you my honest opinion on the Behringer tuner. It sucks. So does your attitude. I don't normally get aggrivated but if you want the Behringer, go buy it. I hope yours works better than mine did.

My guitar doesn't have a lot of real estate on the headstock. My clipper doesn't have a lot of grip either. It's crashed on the floor before with the battery and cover scattering all over the place! Plus, I've had problems with loud noise and vibration (bass and drums) affecting the action of the clipper. He guys shut the fuck up so I can tune... :D

I still have my Sabine ST-1000 that I bought for $15 bux back in the mid 90's! It still works, so I can use that for now. It has a 1/4" that I can go in from the amp tuner out.

I still use my Sabine st-1000 at every gig and have since they were 1st issued. Meanwhile I have over 20 amps and 20 guitars that I rotate thru at gigs, but the st-1000 always works how I need it. .I'd love a rack tuner though ;) Meanwhile , I discovered Snarks last year for my acoustics and they're 1 of the better inventions ever . I did have 1 break (the clip on thingie broke from the body , but the tuner part still works) . .ha

GOod luck

I'm not set on anything, but you want me to drop 400 on a tuner when at the same time a cheap clip on is fine, but a 70 dollar behringer isn't .

YOu people are gear snobs that look for street cred with the shit you buy, and offer no reasonable proof for your opinions. Most of you wouldn't post in a jam to backup your snobbery..

400 for a tuner... fuck that..

So now the personal attacks start. :lame:

I am totally confused as to why you started this thread if you didn't want opinions. I was just trying to help you get the tuner that's right for you. What do I get for me time. A big FU. Excuse me for trying to help. You wanted a good suitable replacement and we all gave you a bunch of options. No one is pushing the expensive Stroborack on you, I just thought it would be helpful to know what is out there so you can make the best decision for you. I guess in your mind that is being a snob. I myself like to know all the options both in and out of my budget so I can make the best decision. Good luck with your gear search.

Cut the OP some slack will ya?

He specified CHEAP in the subject and someone came up with a $400 tuner... I mean come on folks!

I had that Behringer rack tuner once.......it was aweful !

Oh yeah? How so?

Btw NOBOBY is going to hear a 1 cent difference.

BTW everyone hears a 1 cent difference, maybe if you're jamming alone it won't make a difference to you but as soon as you are playing with other instruments it makes all the difference in the world. You pay for what you get, for me tuning is the most important thing to have right, I don't care how good you are or how dope your rig is, if you're out of tune you sound like an amateur. Especially with a band.

I am sort of in line with the OP. I had the Turbo Tuner and gave it to Kage. I have a bunch of Korg DT-7 tuners, which I like, but wanted a pedal. I don't like the TT. I bought the TC Tuner and think it is ok, but it doesn't float my boat either. I have an old Boss TU12H, which I always dug...still not a pedal. I got a clip on for my Taylor and love it. I have always liked the Boss pedal tuners. I don't need super duper accuracy for rocking, you need it for intonation. Once you are intonated properly, you just have to be in tune to play. Tuners are so much better than they used to be. Shit, I had that Sabine and it did rule. I think to believe you need these super accurate tuners to be able to play is ridiculous. For perfect setups...sure. That, however, is a totally different story. Can you hear the difference in "accuracy" when playing? Sure...just like you can hear the difference between a Duracell and an Eveready.

I always liked my brother's Sabine rt-7100/7000 rack tuner. Dunno how accurate it is, but for a rack tuner I was happy. Wasn't outlandishly expensive. Most of the time these days I use someone's snark or Da Tuner

I don't give a fuck what people think...

Don't bother starting any more threads asking peoples opinions then. Go buy whateverthefuck you want.

The Sonic Research tuner is $129.

SNARK
Agreed with the others above; it's a game changer! $11!!!

For my clip on, I use the Go Go TT-1. It edged out the Snark just a tad in this comparison, which is where I first saw it. I have been super happy with it ever since.

I picked up a Korg/Toneworks DTR-1 for $50 12 yrs ago, and it's still working like a champ. Another inexpensive alternative is to pickup a used Korg/Toneworks DTR-2
