Mine has to be my KG Prime. Great price, and it plays and sounds like a dream. A bright yellow METAL dream. Thank ya Dan! :D/

What are some of you're guys' best gear scores?

In 2003, I got my Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555 head with matching silver A and B 4x12 cabs. Full stack in incredible condition for $1000.

At the time the heads alone were going for around $2k on ebay.

I bought a Marshall 4x12 handwired straight cab loaded with Heritage H30's for $500. Those speakers alone sell for $200 each. It sounds killer.

Bought a late 50's Fender Tweed princeton for $5 at a yard sale. Had a wire that came unsoldered. Fixed it and played it for a few years, ended up having to sell it to make rent. :(

That's crazy Pete...$5.00?
Mine's nothing that spectacular, but I paid $300 plus an od pedal I had laying around for my mint recto 212.
Also, I found the head/rack case that my recto and rack gear live in at a Music-Go-Round shop for $90! It was a little dinged up so I bought some textured paint and gave it a few coats. Good as new

A couple years ago the local Guitar Center had a used Zion marked at $550. It was a mess and the strings were just about laying on the frets. It was there for months, eventually dropped to $450. It was an older model, Kahler trem, rosewood board a solid color finish on the body. About a week before Labor Day they dropped it to $199. I couldn't resist. I got it home, raised the action a bit and cleaned it up. Most of what looked like dents/dings in the finish was actually just dirt. Within an hour it looked and played great. I feel like that guitar would have been worth it at $450, they might have sold it if they had worked on it a bit. I'm glad they didn't though. ;)

My Best score was a Japanese Kramer nightswan with lightning graphics.
Different color then the USA ones.(Looked like Dimebags CFH graphic color)
Snagged it for $350 if I remember right.
Sold it off long ago like I do all the rest of my gear!

Picked up a Laney GH50L for $163 out the door, tax included. It was used, and a bit worn but still turned around and sold it for $400. Kinda miss it sometimes.

A beat up old 79 JMP 100 from these very boards for $600. It now looks like this and has the Friedman Kitchen Sink mod

Nice! :inlove:

@aeroic
how the hell did you pull that off?

Reading all of these scores makes me cry, I can't get anywhere close to these :(

Marshall Silver Jubilees were good to me. I got 2555 with a cheap 4x12 for 660 shipped. It was in MINT condition, and sold it later to buy an old guitar when prices were at their highest for 2650.00. Before that, I'd bought a 2553 Full stack for 950 shipped, and I'd previously gotten a 2555 halfstack for 500.00 and a 1960B cab trade, and a 2553 BIN on ebay for 400.00.

picked up a Langner DCP-1 Preamp for $500, sold it for $1000.

Was given a Lee Jackson M-1000.

Bought a Randall RG200ES for $200, sold it for $700.

lots of other, can't remember atm.....

bought a 1989 marshall jcm800 lead series cabinet in the newspaper for $250 cash local with the original 65's. sold it for $460 shipped. cabinet was worth $600 shipped easy.

bought my wolfgang for $700 cash, sold it for $710 shipped 4 years later. not bad i believe.

had a fender solid state 2x12 that after 5 months decided to blow up. so i traded it for $350 credit to sam ash. i lost money. the guy didnt know it was a piece so in the end i won :D

hey dave that 73 strat story is cool.

Not as good as some of you guys, but I got a mint 2008 Gibson V with Bareknuckles, straplocks, case and set of strings for £500 :)

They go for £900ish stock and new.
