Best "Lay it Down" Riff Contest

I know this thread was created wit a little parody in mind but here is an attempt I made at it over two years ago. I know it isn't note for note and the solo was pretty much improvised. Used my Kemper with a SLO profile. Recorded the intro riff in advance. Bombs away!

Been a fan of this clips for some time Chad . Was one of the many clips I listened to over and over again when GASing for a KPA .

Yeah its off just a hair....I tried to post earlier with my pad but it wouldn't upload. But I listened to my clips and I'm rushing the riff a little....I need a metronome as well. But love the tone, as usual!

I'd be better off quitting the down-stroke-only method and use down/up strokes for the rhythm.
I think that's the problem, it's throwing my timing off.
However
Thank you, the tone tuned out pretty good in the clip so I think I'll just keep it for now.
I still plan on redoing it down the road tho.

I like the half step back tuning approach, sounds very cool.

All the other songs sound fantastic too.

Normally i always grab my 81 charvel but lately i have been playin the LP
and really diggin it, getting into the gary moore,john sykes,neal schon trip i guess

You're timing/playing of the riff was fine, you just mis-judged when the backing music would kick in. You don't need a metronome except to help count you in. Also I dug you're tone for it the best so far.

Yeah, I did kinda come at the song too fast at the begin, it didn't help matters.
But, the tone did turnout pretty good.

Not even in the ballpark brother. I can think of dozens of other riffs that came out in the 80's (mostly early) by many bands that are so classic that it's embarrassing to mention Ratt in the same breath. So I wont.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. And that's ok.
