I've heard those stories as well, but when you watch em play live from that era, they actually played even faster live, so....

they did, a lot of the times it sounded like they were all playing a different song but they did like to play fast :ROFLMAO:

Justice came out when I was a senior in HS and we all were waiting for it. I thought it was ok but liked the previous records way better. I still do. I sw 2 shows on that tour and enjoyed them.

Flash forward to the MTV award show where they played Sandman and I knew it was over for me. I never bought anther album.

That day was the birth of bro/dad rock

I suppose it was - they went mainstream then and I lost interest. But success happens and I do not blame them. Obviously it was a huge album etc but it was so dumbed down to me compared with the epic tunes they had on earlier records. I remember being very disappointed watching that. Many years later I have had to play Sandman in bands haha. Not because I wanted to.....

Been on the road for a few hrs.
Listening to Sirius.
Welcome home sanitarium just played
So much better than all the other tallica tunes, so far, including off ajfa and black.

Agreed, but its always so fascinating to me that Master of Puppets, Damage Inc. and Leper Messiah were all tuned to 432hz. There's a chance they tracked them slightly detuned and slower to keep them tight, yet they were one of the tightest live bands ever so I have no idea lol

Wes Hauch talked about this a few times in interviews

Edit: This is the interview

And Justice for me too actually! Love this album. Lars plays ( or was pasted together from diff takes) extremely well on this one.
