Overall i bought a sold some gear but not as much as the years past.

Splawn nitro, slash jube, taylor 714ce, gibson vos jimmy page number 2.

Gibson custom shop tom murphy aged gary rossington les paul.
For years this has been my dream guitar and i still cant believe i finally got one, this one popped up a few times over the years but i kept missing out and last summer i decided if it ever comes up again i would go for it and i did. Heres some pics the previous owner took.

Bought a fair amount of stuff this year but the best two things were a Suhr M2 and a Carvin Legacy head. They both had a little something extra and special that moved my sound closer to where I wanted it to be.

Didn't get much this year, but I'm really enjoying the few things I did buy/trade for:

Friedman mod
G&L Invader
Lovepedal Eternity (I think that was this year, no?)
Russian Muff
MXR Classic OD
MXR Phase 90 (modded, from Greg )
Addictive Drums software

Tough to choose the best one because that G&L is quickly becoming my go-to axe, the Friedman mod just rocks, and the addictive drums are a must for recording....I guess it wasn't that bad of a year considering the economy and my shitty hours at work.

2010 Recto- Some people say there's no really difference, but perhaps I just got lucky. This thing is thick, it can grind, and it REALLY covers a ton of sonic ground.

I've bought quite a few things that I really love, but this has to be one of the best that I wasn't expecting to like as much as I do. I wanted a 2ch recto for recording, but happened to get a 2010 at the right price with the right trade. I was told the same thing by most people, all hype, so I wasn't expecting much. Maybe like you said, it's just luck of the draw, but I'll be damned if the thing doesn't seem like it's quite improved from previous models I've owned. I probably wouldn't have bothered if I hadn't talked to you first, so thanks again for the tip Greg.

Well thats what the ebay ad said. Is there a way to really tell? Maybe by the serial number? It does have a blank truss rod cover, which I know the "premium plus" models had, and I know that top would be more likely to show up on a premium plus. But it has a 60's neck, and to my knowledge the premiums have 50's necks.

In this comparison video both amps are set exactly the same, and the 2010 seems to sound more "wiry" and has more bite and presence.

But in this one the 2010 sounds silkier and a little "jucier"

Doesn't seem like enough of a difference in sound alone to justify getting one or the other, but if I didn't already have a recto I'd buy the 2010 for the series loop and the adjustable wattage per channel.
