I don't remember what I bought this year...

<cough>bullshit</cough>

Sounds like a nasty cough--you should take care of that... get some chicken soup...

:hys:

I scored a grip of gear this year, but I finally scored the amp that gave me the sound I've been searching for:

Diezel Herbert

Honorable mentions:

Diezel VH4
Splawn Quick Rod
Splawn Nitro
Hughes & Kettner Trilogy (regretted selling my first one, so this was a backfill)
A Suhr!! (Finally)

Super-Honorable mention:

Finding Rig-Talk and meeting some cool cats :rawk:

Cheers,

Bought and sold more high $ guitars this year than any before..well maybe some of it goes back to late 2009...best purchase, probably the Suhr Moderm M1 I since sold....since I really been lookin' for the perfect shred guitar that wasn't an Ibanez.

Based on what I kept my 'cheap' PRS Cu22...awesome tones!

2010 Recto- Some people say there's no really difference, but perhaps I just got lucky. This thing is thick, it can grind, and it REALLY covers a ton of sonic ground.
I've bought quite a few things that I really love, but this has to be one of the best that I wasn't expecting to like as much as I do. I wanted a 2ch recto for recording, but happened to get a 2010 at the right price with the right trade. I was told the same thing by most people, all hype, so I wasn't expecting much. Maybe like you said, it's just luck of the draw, but I'll be damned if the thing doesn't seem like it's quite improved from previous models I've owned. I probably wouldn't have bothered if I hadn't talked to you first, so thanks again for the tip Greg.

You're more than welcome. I love the thing. I'm glad to share the good news with a RT brotha.

I flipped through so much damn gear this year. Wow! So much.

Id say my best purchase has been my 81 Silverburst LPC. It's my number one, gets played everyday. :inlove:

Caparison Horus. It's my current #1. My Horus HGS MF is my #2, so I guess I just really like these guitars at the moment.

jeez...this year I got a lot of stuff...
Engl Powerball
Riveral KR7
Diezel Herbert
Diezel VH4
Mesa Mark V
Mesa Tremoverb Combo
Peavey 5150
Bogner Uberschall Twin Jet
Marshall DSL100
VHT 2902
A few guitars...
Gibson Flying V 50th anniversary,
Gibson Les Paul Custom Silverburst,
Gibson Explorer,
Ibanez SZ2020FM
Ibanez SZ4020FM

So......the best purchases?

I'd have to say right now I am still majorly digging my VH4 AND my new Bogner Uberschall Twin Jet!
I was playing them together today and It is just absolute sonic thunder! I really enjoy the line thru on the front of the VH4 that lets you feed another amplifier...truly awesome!

You didnt sell the Les Paul did you :gethim: I use that pic of it laying on the deck as a back ground for my iPhone

Fortin Meathead! was hard gettin that one past the Minister of Finance [missus], but well worth it :)

Best Amp in 2010: A blackface Cornford Mk50H I got for 800 GBP off ebay. Rocks my boat!

Second best has to be the '73 Marshall Cab with 4 original Greybacks in it, what a great Cab!

Definitely my 5150III + Mills Acoustics cab

For studio stuff also got new monitors - Adam A8X and they sound amazing

For future gear whoring i'm starting to build up a live studio space where I can crank amps, really excited for that and starting to collect some nice mics (Royer R-121, 421, 57 etc.) and pres (API, Great River)

Also, though I only technically "bought" two pieces of gear this year (all with money from selling other stuff) I acquired my entire current rig this year through trades/etc.

So in that case, my best gear purchase was my entire rig.

Obligatory picwhoring:
