Best thrash / extreme metal tones ever

[Techdeth]

For me, the apex of 90's Extreme Metal tone is Carcass - Heartwork. That sizzle. That chunk. Perfect.

Now this is it !

[DanTravis62]

Probably Iced Earth tones . Justice for all . Pantera the art of shred . Meshugah lots
Cannibal corpse blood thirst whuch is the one recto album I love

I love me some Heartwork too

I was going to post same thing. 5150 is what they were using, right?

[Bad Brain]

I'm thinking thrash is a different but related tone than other extreme metal. I love CC's tone for example, but it is very different from thrash sounds IMO.

[RaceU4her]

this is it for me. 4:00 i think is the most brutal piece of music ever written. the whole album is a must listen

These are like the two biggest, most influential death metal tones and albums of all time, or close

Engl/5150

Never heard of these guys but that groove is incredible. Damn.

Gonna check out more of their stuff.

I was going to post same thing. 5150 is what they were using, right?

I keep reading it's all sorts of stuff. 5150 by some accounts. Marshall 6100 by others.

I know they used the "Frankencab" which was two Marshall cabs gaffer taped together and then some Marshall Mini Stack blended in.

That whole record is like that. It's killer. But it's their only record like that. Their other stuff is more like Melodic Death Metal meets Black Metal. Pretty cool, but very different-sounding.
