I loaded a set of BKP Polymaths in my Ibanez JBM27 a week or so ago. I liked them so much I ordered another set for my Les Paul Custom. I will say that they are extremely balanced. What your guitar sounds like unplugged is what you are going to get into the amp. Moreso than any other pickup that I have tried. They are your typical BKP articulate. Love it or hate it, what you put in is exactly what is coming out... warts and all. I dig this, as it lets me know where I need to tighten up on my playing. (Which is a lot...lol!) Here's a quick vid running through some profiles on my Kemper. Playing is sloppy as per usual, but you get the idea.

Killer! I've been really interested in these and are planning to put them in a PRS Baritone I have my eyes on. I think the lower output and less low end is exactly what I'm looking for with extreme low tunings. They sound nice and articulate here, well done! EDIT: I thought we were talking about the PolyPAF.

Just put a set in my Charvel to replace the JB/59 combo. I'm really happy so far. Like you said, excellent balance. Nice and bright.

I thought they sounded pretty growly and chunky yet articulate.......very nice!:2thumbsup:

I have a set in my aristides h/o7, and theyre fantastic! By far my favorite 7 string pup. Havent tried or even played a six in a long time now. But balanced is a good description. Not too hot, just enough. Mids are broad without being honky or congested sounding, bass is tight as hell, and the high end is just right. Kind of opened my mind about alnico mags in a metal pup. Really nailed the mid center in this one.

Sounds killer. I was a bit turned off by the lower output specs so wasn’t too interested. Do they feel like low output?

You sure you weren't looking at Polypaf? The polymaths are 14-15k medium output. They get plenty aggressive and chunky. They've got a bit of sizzle to them but very well balanced and extremely articulate

Great description; exactly how I feel about them. Tight and articulate like most BK pickups, but the way the mids are voiced make them super versatile, easy to play (no weird freqs getting in the way of your playing). Really some of the best new pickups I have tried in a while.

I have a set of the PolyPAF's going into a Knaggs Kenai build I have coming, so I am super excited to give those a go as well!

Love the Polymath set. Have them in my CE22 in drop C and it’s one of the best sounding guitars I’ve had to date. Getting a set of Polypafs for a CE24 soon. Looking forward to those.

Sounds great! I might have to try a PolyMath in the bridge of my LP instead of the Duncan Distortion to see how that affects the eternal quest for Adam Jones's TOAN.

Fwiw, and tone is subjective, but ive always hated the high end on the sh6. This still has a crisp high end but its pleasing and not grating. It may be the magnets they used, but man they got it right.

That's what I love about the sh6, the high end attack it has. Plus my rig is pretty dark sounding to begin with so it helps.
