Here's a quick video of the Blankenship Masterplex. It's a hot rodded JCM800, master volume, Metro Zero Loss FX loop. This is the tone straight into the amp. It's a 50 watter, and a nice addition to the collection - I think I'm done with amps

Sounds a bit dark. Can you turn that presence up please?

lol but THIS, I echo that sentiment! Also, I trust you like your ceramic mags in pups?

Great demo, those Blankenships sure sound killer

Thanks, yeah I like Roy's amps a lot - his plexi's are my favorite but this has all the cool features needed for gigging a reasonable volumes.

yeah, this is just the condensor mic on my cheapo camera. Between that and the fact that I do usually dial my amps in darker are attributing to the darker sound. There was definitely more highs than what's on here. I had the presence and treble about 9 o'clock. I'll do a properly mic'ed up video when I get some time.

Sounds killer Darren, seems responsive as hell... Sounds like it inspires the smack down out of you!

Thanks! and yes, responsive is a great word for this amp - all Roy's amps seem to have that in spades, which I really like.

yeah I do - mainly because I find ceramic magnet pickups are quieter than alnico. Noise drives me nuts. While recording my new CD I swithced from the Custom Custom to a Custom just because of the noise, and I do like the Custom as much as I like the Custom Custom - even though they are slightly different.

I prefer the darker Marshall tone. The reason I looked for an anti-Marshall in the first place was the obnoxious wiry top end. I like that kerrang but it has to be rich, not harsh. I dig this tone in your video. It would cut through a mix but isn't brash and in your face.

Thanks dude - definitely good mids in this amp that sit well in a live and recorded mix

Love this Darren! One of my favorite players ripping through a killer sounding amp. Congrats on a desert isle type of amp.
