I can get by with just two flavors, one that colors a bit (analogman modded SD-1) and one that doesn't, the Timmy. But this board is a gear pimping nightmare lol....so many great suggestions and samples, I've convinced myself I need the original Koko boost as well...but they never show up used, pfft!

Want low end?? The best boost I've tried that not only doesn't suck low end but can ADD it is the Boss OD1X. The most transparent is the Cusack screamer. Of the ones I've tried.
He is correct. The od1x is a fantastic modern designed pedal(digital but you would never know it) super clear bottom end that doesnt get muddy and nice clear highend. I just wish it had a mid control (mids arent as pernounced as a ts style pedal which might be a good thing for you?)

Is the OD1X in the tube screamer family ? Looks like a cool pedal with the separate bass and treble pots .

Check out EVH overdrive pretty nice with a gate n a light boost

I have one, use it daily in front of a clean channel for at home practice. Good pedal, but an OD.. not really.
Its more full on gain if anything.

They named it an overdrive, but trust me, its not an overdrive as we are used to seeing/using.

Meant more for a clean channel. I used it in front of my blue channel on my 50 watt for giggles, lasted about 10 seconds.

A boost it is not imo.

I second the BB+ as being the most versatile with two channels and the most transparent. The Maxon is sweet, but it does have it's mid range bump. I see lots posting about the MXR ZW, his recordings that matter were all Boss SD1, which is way over looked in today's universe of pedals. Best put, it's like the Maxon, but not quite as bright; so less colorized if you will.

as cheap as most of there are, you should just buy a few of them and start sorting/testing through them.

I've had a few Avengers and SLO's. Best boost pedal to my ears and best feeling is a BB Preamp. Works great with Soldano's frequencies.

Im high on EQ pedals for clean boost, the Earthquaker Devices tone job is simple and effective. IF you are looking for more of an OD boost I like the earthquaker dunes, ts flavor but with full range boost capabilities, great pedal.
