My high dollar guitar related purchase this week. No more metal container. No more wooden handle on the dispenser but the formula seems the same and I'm sick of strings getting sticky cramping my style in the heat. Sending the lady down to get me some terry cloth hand towels. Gotta get prepared for gig season.

:m17:

I’ve never used anything like this, but I do get the sticky string issue on occasion and hate it. But I’ve always imagined some kind of lubricant would make it the opposite, too slippery. No?

Correct. The idea is to apply it and wipe off the excess. It cleans the strings to some degree. Not sure why I didn't start using it sooner at sweaty gigs, hopefully it helps. I started bringing a terry cloth towel and it definitely improved things. I have a couple semi-important festival gigs this year I can't be suffering stupid problems like sticky strings at.

works best when you rub it into the soles of your Santana's
Waynzo! Where you been buddy? I almost was gonna start a thread cause I hadn't seen you and I think there are a couple new pairs of recently released Carlos™️!

With Elixers and a very occasional (like once in 20 playing hours) wipe down I've never had sticky strings. Y'all playing BBQ joints or something?

90-100 degree gigs outdoors in courtyards mostly. I'm basically soaked in sweat down to my underwear by the time it's over.

Ugh. I did a couple outdoor summer ones last year but they weren't that long.

Now that I think about it I'd be worried I'd sweat out those awesome shoes!

3 hours is the standard gig length here but the festival sets are 1 hour and change. I actually love gigging in the Texas heat....not much warmup required and it is consistent and stable for six months in central Texas, hot as blazes and dry as hell, lol.

I can imagine wiring up all the switches on the Blue Fez dual overdrive would keep even the most avid solderer very busy.
I liked the purple Fez pic you posted a little more than the blue one ...... but I couldn't find the pic after

^It's actually more of a cross between a Fedora and a Homburg. It's a Homburg but it doesn't have the ribbon edge. A fez doesn't have a brim at all, it's a shriner's circus hat.

there it is ..... that's money right there ....... I'm going to put that on one of the 20th Ann Phasers ...
Wow, you're painting me into a corner with all the toggelz now plus the hat....

What's the ETA on it?

I thought Fez was just another name for a hat ... I didn't know it was a style of hat ...
