I must be slow in the head because I've suffered like ten Texas summers with sticky strings and finally took action with an $8 purchase, LOL.I'm a finger ease guy, but fast fret works fine
Just like finger ease, as long as you wipe off the excess it works great

I imagine Washington in the height of summer is comparable to the southern US for heat and humidity. It's usually dry here in summer but lately we've had a lot of rain, which is much needed, so friday was pretty humid since the bar is indoors but has plexi garage doors that open to a patio area.Yeah it gets very hot and very wet here, too, though not as bad as texas i'm sure
Finger ease/fast fret whatever is a necessity for summer gigging - it literally changes the game if you play leads in a live setting
It makes shit so much easier to deal with

Here most of the venues I end up playing are outdoors so AC isn't really a factor for me. Just about every one is a courtyard with a stage. I can only think of one gig that is actually indoors, the one I played friday. The fast fret was money well spent. It's bad. And the worst part is all the coastal venues don't have AC because hippy fuckwad reasons
Keeping your strings/fretboard conditioned is a fact of life here because of it
Better than what I use to step on in parts of Southern California…Must be a texas heat thing with the chops yall have
We don't get sticky strings in NYC.
Just sticky shoes from stepping on all the gum

dunlop makes a blue bottle that's string conditioner and cleaner - i usually use it when I change strings, but the fast fret seems to be easier to apply live. And Fast Fret has a smell...it's a nostalgia thing, i just remember it from the old guitar stores before they closed around here.I would be curious to try it, I probably have not used Fast fret in about 20 years. I use Dunlop 65 fretboard conditioner but not with every single string change, Maybe four or five times a year. Never have any barbecue finger issues but fast Fred is kind of nostalgic and I might buy some just for fun
