I'm starting an online gang, the Budda Brotherhood. Just curious who here also rocks a Budda? Doesn't matter if it's a Superdrive or not, it just can't be one of those ugly Alex Skolnick models.

So, if you have a Budda and want to join, list what model(s) you have. If you have superior taste in tone and want to shit on people that aren't as cool as us, sign up in the comments.

I have an SD45 that hasn’t been used in a while. Love those amps!

I have always wanted a SD80. Is there a big difference between the older and newer ones?

There are 3 stages of Budda: the ones made by Budda exclusively, the ones made by Peavey after Budda had enlisted their help, then the pure Peavey Buddas. The Budda logo on the left of the amp is straight Peavey, the little fat belly Buddha logo on the left is either pure Budda or Budda/Peavey. You can tell by the effects loop orientation on the back. Vertical jacks is pure Budda, horizontal jacks are Budda/Peavey.

I doubt you'd be able to tell much of a difference between just regular auditory differences depending on tubes, cabinet, settings, stuff like that. But I'm sure there are some people with REALLY good ears that can tell slight differences. I think Peavey changed a few values or components here and there when they fully took it over. But everyone wants the Pre Peavey ones, so there's that.

Since you WANT an SD80 (the first amp I heard that totally blew me away), you're an intern

I'm in.

Sd30ii here.

Amp is pretty dark. Even with a bright switch added.

Love em, just can't afford to collect every amp like pokemon.

They sound really good for greasy, fast punk n' roll like the supersuckers or something.

Similarly dark to a naylor, but a little bit more uncontrolled and wild

Wasn’t the Buddha Brotherhood responsible for the Saturday night prison gang rapes that @JackBootedThug had to frequently break up?

Alright, well there's 4 of us now, and 1 intern. @Classic @Erock @dead-pan who should we shit on first and then pin on the intern as a form of hazing?

I had a Superdrive 18 that I liked enough, but when playing it with my band it wasn't loud enough, so I sold it and never revisited the brand,

Ya see brother, that's why you need a stack of Supderdrive 80s and like 16 cabinets. Be Yngwie, but without the classic Marshalls.

Is he the one who said Dave Friedman had a hand in the original design?

Apparently Dave Friedman and Naylor had a hand in designing the preamp, but I think it was the power amp that was all Jeff Bober.

There's a dude on The Gear Page selling an SD80 in New York for $750 picked up, or more for shipping. I'm considering buying it just to have it. It's a Budda Budda, no Peavey involved.

You will absolutely never find a cheaper SD80 than that one.
