Building AI Data centers with taxpayer's money then giving the Data Center tax breaks........

Say it with me ..............Oligarchy.....

And sadly, Trump is trying to ban States from imposing any regulations on AI and data centers.
"In December 2025, President Trump signed an executive order aimed at creating a uniform national AI policy and discouraging states from enacting "burdensome" AI laws. This order suggests that states with "onerous" AI laws may be ineligible for certain federal funding (specifically non-deployment broadband funds)."

Data centers significantly drive up electricity demand, causing rising power costs for all consumers, with potential for average U.S. bills to increase 8% by 2030, especially in high-demand areas like Virginia, due to massive AI infrastructure needs

Data centers are expected to consume 12% of total U.S. electricity by 2028, up from 4.4% in 2023.

While on the campaign trail, President Donald Trump pledged to cut electricity prices in half within his first 18 months of office.

How's that going? Hmmm.....

Households that use electricity to heat their homes are estimated to see their winter heating bills rise to $1,205 this season, up about 10% from $1,093 last winter, according to the National Energy Assistance Directors Association.

You are spamming the forum again, you just don't learn lmfao

I'm getting a surveillance state in exchange for job losses, forgettable media, increased RAM prices, increased material prices like copper or silver, increasing electricity or water costs, etc.

The positives don't outweigh the negatives in my mind. AI is bad.

AI is not bad for the billionaire class 1% that despises the 99% of humanity in every regard. They always find a way to shift the costs off onto those that are not in the 1% club. Meanwhile our representatives continue to GASLIGHT the American people while inflation progresses unabated.

Whatever you may think about the morality or economics of AI, the reality is that it's going to be a technological & military shift on the level of the industrial revolution or nuclear weapons if not larger. You're not going to be able to ignore it any more than you can ignore manufactured goods or an enemy's ICBMs.

In terms of timeline we're in that brief period of time analogous to the month between the Trinity test and the Hiroshima bombing, when all the technical problems have been sufficiently overcome to get things working, but the public doesn't really understand what's being built yet. It's hard to say how long this little lull will last, but history suggests it won't be too long.

It’s ironic that AI, which should free us up from mundane tasks & allow us to have more free time & be creative.. is going to basically end up sucking up resources & costing us more $.. which means we’ll end up working more hours to pay the bills.
Huge problem and it’s only going to get worse.

Next matrix or terminator movie unrolling in real time right in front of our eyes

Technology is always sold as "making life easier" but it seldom does anymore. Or it does in theory, but not in practice.

Its all AI and not some immigrant fuckers working for less than minimum wage with 10 fuckers all living in the same building......

Okay.......sure :ROFLMAO:

"data centers" are nothing more than internet storage for big companies like Amazon on the taxpayer dime.
Just like "Tax Cuts" for billionaires & taxpayer funded NFL stadiums.
Just say no.
