Buyer Beware Floyd Rose (Update)

I am so tempted by that. Do the top mount holes line up? Where are you able to find them for $19.95? I scoured the internet last week and the cheapest I could find was from Amplified Parts...$25 plus shipping.

I don't have anything to check the top mount.

I bought this as a backup if the Floyd Rose nut didn't workout and I needed the black string retainer that Floyd wants $22 for.

Too bad they don't make a 10" radius locking nut. Nor are they rear mounted.

Doesn't EBMM use Gotoh nuts on the Axis? Those are rear mounted and the Axis is 10" radius.

Maybe custom made? I checked the Gotoh website and there is not a 10" listed.

We gave up on the German Floyd’s for the school students around 2017 and have been using Gotoh 1996’s since then. But excited to try some of the new Floyd stuff with the different radii

I found it advantageous to scour around and find older MIG versions before any QA issues popped up, I have ended up with quite a few waiting for projects. Otherwise it's always 1996t for me nowadays instead of new OFRs.

For the money, that 1996T is hard to beat.

I hated to say my USA made 1984 Floyd purchase was a disappointment. Two completely frozen saddles is not what I would call good Quality Control and manufacturing processes since moving production from Germany to the US. WTF!

This is why I only buy German made HKs.

Radiused saddles was a game changer for sure. The ones I've bought have been 100%.

If/when the radiused nuts show up the system will be much, much better.
