It's more than just that, too - there's also his legal team, the money that the network loses on advertisers not wanting to advertise in a show that gets low viewership, and also simply the bad press and negativity to the brand he adds

Loved the homeboy. Ok...Muncie In. IIRC he purposely avoided politics, no doubt realizing how divisive the subject is. He seemed to find plenty of material on other subjects...
and other hosts could find an important lesson in that.

The FCC may be looking into Kimmel's comments a little more closely to see if it falls under their rules of broadcasting false information (see below). I highly doubt anything would actually come of it other than giving Kimmel and ABC a bigger headache to deal with. Given everything that's been going on I can see the first two bullet points being reasonably provable. The third bullet point however would be much harder to directly connect to his statements.

Beyond that I think there's a good chance Kimmel's off the network airwaves for good. Yeah, his contract is still in place and the show hasn't been officially cancelled, but the local ABC affiliates have dropped the Tonight Show completely and he's currently under indefinite suspension by the network. Plus from reports he's pretty pissed and looking to end his contract immediately. He could still make a fake apology and weasel his way back on, but I just don't see that as the highest probability outcome. At this point he's pretty much a cancer to TV so I highly doubt any of the cable stations would be keen to pick him up. I suspect the most likely scenario is he's able to get his contract ended and will pop up with some shitty podcast on rumble.

Another point that goes along with all this is how these mid-wit partisan hack "comedians" have ruined the legacy late night shows. IMO Carson was the best. Even if you didn't care for Sullivan, Leno, Letterman, or Conan you have to admit they still put on a good show and didn't drive the legacy into the dirt. Even Craig Kilborn & Craig Furgison going into the 2000's were miles better than all the current/recently axed turdbag hosts. It's like; congratulations fuckwads, y'all were handed shows that should have been a gimme to keep going into the far future and you fucked that up.
