If the class was worth 3K to him and he got something out of it and enjoyed it then is doesn't really matter what anyone says. I'd say that's a little steep but if it was a week long class or so with good fundamentals and theory taught on top of just soldering more power to him and he built an amp on top of it all.

I think it was a cool thing, and nobody really ripped on him. I ripped on myself when Bruce Egnater was doing amp building classes 4 hours from my house. I bitched out because of a girl and one for some other money making shit. I digress. I hope he decides to come back and share knowledge, I bet it was a sweet time!!

Not really if you think about it, most good techs in alot of industries charge 100-200 an hour so for a two or three day course if it is 6-8 hours a day you are looking at 600-1000 a day and then about 1000 bucks for a 50 watt amp complete with tubes, the guys teaching and overseeing have to be paid.

I don't think it's that bad of a price if he got some basic instruction out of it, too, with the amp
