Cameron Amplifiers Newest Amp: The Old Bitch...Vote for FONT

Yeah, sorry but I don't like the name or any of the fonts. Atomica has a cool ring to it. Old Bitch really doesn't.

Even just "Bitch" would flow better than "Old Bitch".

Sorry, Old Bitch is one of the stupidest names I've heard for an amp, and there's been some doozies lately.

As a marketing professional, I wholeheartedly agree. As a guitarist, I also agree. I realize it was a play on "Aldrich" but I think its extremely short sighted to go in that direction. Only a very small portion of your potential customer base will "get it". Poor name + poor logo = poor sales (once the fanbois get theirs ).

It seems like you guys are shooting from the hip rather doing any real market studies...rarely a formula for sustainable success.

I like A and E the best, only because it looks like the sexy devil's signature, as opposed to a screen print or calligraphy.

With that said, I don't really like the American flag/POW print, unless proceeds are going to AmVets or similar. Not that I'm unAmerican or anti POW, but it screams, "'Mericah - Fuck Yeah."

Not a bad idea...the the name and the devil chick really don't go together very well...nothing old or bitchy looking about her.

I totally agree.... That lil devil girl logo and the name "old bitch" have nothing in common with each other! Does not match at all. If the amp was called "Lil Devil", then that would work. Old Bitch reminds me of the old Playboy granny.

The Atomica name and logo work perfectly together!!!

Yeah, I can see how the name "Old Bitch" in and of itself could turn off some purchasers.

Here's a wild thought.....

The "Old Bitch" is the second of the Cameron "MOD" series of amps, and will be the sister amp of the Atomica. My understanding is that the cosmetics (i.e., the headshell, control panels, knobs, etc.) will be consistent across the two amps.

So, why not consider doing something in the same scientific theme as the Cameron "Atomica", which has the atomic symbol?

How about the Cameron "Particle Accelerator", with a radiation symbol?


Then the MOD series would have a.....

ATOMICA

And a.....

PARTICLE ACCELERATOR

You could then just use the same block font for the Particle Accelerator as was used for the Atomica. Keep everything nice and consistent.

Oops. Oh yeah, the "Smasher". Oh well, "Particle Accelerator" is not the same name as "Particle Smasher".

Regardless, I stand by the suggestion of staying with the scientific theme. Could be any of a number of suitable names that could be used with the Radiation symbol....

* Cameron "Radiator"
* Cameron "Nucleus"
* Cameron "X-Ray"
* Cameron "Ionizer"
* Cameron "Fusion"
* Cameron "Diffuser"

Etc.....

I can think of one that mixes pastel colours with Mexican foodstuffs that is also questionable in nature and appropriateness. The problem with that particular amp is that I am VERY interested in it!

Remove the cameron logo

Replace it with King Amplifiers Inc. Since Brad does own the name and the amplifier.

Keep the cute devil picture, and let old bitch be the code name for the design only but not on the amplifier.

I think that one was genius from a marketing standpoint because he is not trying to mass produce or sell those. I think Trent Reznor was the only one who bought one and I believe they are priced at 4k+ each. It was more of a way for the builder to draw attention to his brand and when it comes to marketing it sure does that.

Let me clarify, I am not a fan of the name "Old Bitch" but I like the "Fucking Fucker" because I can identify with that product on multiple levels.
