I have to say it wasn't as bright as I expected. This cab had a Creamback 65 in it before the Cream and I seem to be cranking presence and treble a little higher than I did with the Creamback. This is my first Alnico speaker, for some reason I was expecting tons of highs. I hope it doesn't get much darker as it breaks in.
I like it a lot so far, it's just not as bright as I had expected. It's still plenty bright for my taste. After reading up about the Blue and Gold I was expecting rip your head off kind of brightness.Rezamatix":1xht4p8c said:marshall2553":1xht4p8c said:I just got mine and dropped it in my Dirty Shirley cab. Definitely darker than other speakers I have had, that's the thing I LOVE about it!
I can't stand errant highs and speakers that have too much brittle information above 6k.
YMMV
