Beautiful sounding speaker there. Also preferred the Friedman at the lower gain but this is a thread about speakers not amps.

I just got mine and dropped it in my Dirty Shirley cab. Only played it for about an hour so far at loudish home volumes with the DS and an Axe FX. Sweet highs, amazing cleans and it sounds great with any amount of gain.

I have to say it wasn't as bright as I expected. This cab had a Creamback 65 in it before the Cream and I seem to be cranking presence and treble a little higher than I did with the Creamback. This is my first Alnico speaker, for some reason I was expecting tons of highs. I hope it doesn't get much darker as it breaks in.

Definitely darker than other speakers I have had, that's the thing I LOVE about it!
I can't stand errant highs and speakers that have too much brittle information above 6k.

YMMV
I like it a lot so far, it's just not as bright as I had expected. It's still plenty bright for my taste. After reading up about the Blue and Gold I was expecting rip your head off kind of brightness.

For me what makes it good with higher gain is the speaker EQ in the low mids. I get plenty of high end information - nothing seems lost. The low end/low mids can be significant though, which makes it different in a good way than other Alnico speakers I've had. Makes it more jack of all trades.

Not really feeling it with the gain tones of the BE100, but it sounds great with the clean tones of both amps and the gain tones of the MTL.

good question .. if its darker than the g12m then I'm out

The wizard shits all over the BE for high gain with that speaker!

Are you using two different guitars in these vids? It would explain a lot of differences I'm hearing.
