BTW guys, I know that facebook is supposed to have clips of these things but WHERE? Youtube yields nada...

I have them shipped to Niagara Falls, NY and then go for a "road trip"..... ;)

What does that end up running you when you come back across the border? When I consider what it will cost my turbo in gas to drive down there and back, I'd prob be at least at 60$. I could understand 25$ to ship per speaker but 50!! Come on!

I accumulate stuff there and then make one trip to pick up numerous items. Done that way, you can save huge $$$'s. You are correct in that it wouldn't work for 2 speakers!

It's a great price if you are down in the states though. Good speakers that sound excellent mixed with the Lynchbacks. (getting back to the thread at hand)

I decided on a nice mix! All Celestion:
In my 412 - 2 Lynchbacks, 1 Greenback Reissue and 1 Greenback Heritage or EVH. :)

I'm very familiar with the perks of cross border shipping, oops, I meant shopping

Any tips on cross border shopping? I think we have to go for 48 hrs to be able to declare 750$ now. So when you factor in the gas for the trip and hotels, aren't you spending more?? How you hide something like a cab or an amp i would like to know..

The Lynchbacks are not good on their own, but they seem to mix really well with some speakers. I have two Heritage G12-65s on the way for my Lynchbacks. If this mix fails, off the LBs go.....and back to my Retro30/ET65 or V30/K-100!!!!

I've seen a lot of people digging the retro 30's and higher watt greenback types

Yesterday, I took delivery of two G12-65 speakers. They are now combined with the Lynchbacks in my Splawn 4x12.
It sounds fantastic, perfect, warm, balanced and rich.

If you have the spectacular Lynchbacks, check out a pairing with the G12-65!

oH NO.... here we go again Richedie.. How long will this love affair last? I have too many speaker combinations to try out because you have found the holy grail at least 4 times in this thread! ;)

By the way, you mentioned going back to ET65/retro 30 a few posts back.. I have heard this is a successful combination as well. I'm thinking of getting a 2 x 12 loaded with these. You still like them? How does it sound? Defined yet thick from the 65?

Haha...

The Retro 30 and ET 65 sound great, thick, full and detailed. Also, the Retro 30 and Reaper 50 is fantastic!

I really like WGS speakers. If I were to ditch the Celestions I would do one of the following

Invader and ET-65
Retro 30 and ET-65
Invader and Reaper
Retro 30 and Reaper 50

Sleep on that! ;)

I know I want to go retro 30 anyway.. just indecisive between ET-65 or Reaper

Go all Retro's. They are good enough all on their own. Fantastic lows, mids and highs. Great clarity and cone crunch all at the same time.

The Retro is sweet, but I would choose a real Vintage 30. I use Hellatones and they rock!

Guys, guys, guys....the Lynchbacks mixed with Heritage G12-65s is a match made in heaven. Incredible balance, warmth, thickness and punch with all my amps.
The G12-65s are working out much better than the G12m-25's.

hmmmm i don't know if i can trust you just yet on this combo Richedie! Should i check back in a week? Clips!

Important question . . . what style of music are you playing (richedie)?

Classic hard rock, 90s rock, alternative and grunge, 2000's hard rock and metal.

Excellent. Same as me. I'm still rocking a pair of Lynchback's in my 2x12 cab. Tried mixing the Lynchbacks and Super Vs in my Soldano cab, but found the Super Vs overpowered the Lynchbacks by a ton. Too much bass, and had to dime the mids and treble. Guess I'll have to try the G12-65s now ;)
