What is the deal with these speakers ?

Any good ? Love / hate them ??

I've been looking at high powered speakers recently and checked these out. Haven't played/heard them in person so don't put much stock in my opinion. From the clips i listened to they didn't sound like my cup-o-tea and didn't make the cut.

Forget everything I said above. I was thinking Copperbacks. I like what I've heard from Sidewinders. The 12's are pretty good, but the 15's sound really nice. I'd love to try a 4x15 cab with a quad of Sidewinder 15's

I'm currently working on a deal that involves a Marshall 1520 cab that has its original quad of 12" Sidewinders. If the deal goes thru, you're welcome to swing by and move some air.

Thanks Everyone

We are probably looking at the same bass cab. I decided to pass.

Did you sell that Memphis ?

This is what got me interested in the sidewinders, Seems like it's a speaker that would work equally well for guitar and bass. Skip to the 7 minute mark for sound samples with bass.

I had one in my 5275 Marshall 1x12 combo amp from 1984 and I thought it sound fairly good. Kind of in the vein of a EVM12L where it shines with alot of volume and may seem a bit tight and sterile at low volumes but YMMV.

In Glenoma? Yup, same cab. I was trying to package it with some of his other stuff to make it more enticing for him. He finally got back to me and said the cab was spoken for. Too bad. He was only a 20 min drive away, too.

The Memphis is still here. Funny thing about that guy...I took it to a local buddy's studio jam last month along with my Twin Sister combo, and everybody there thought the Fryette sounded better.

No. It was a cab up here in Seattle. I like the idea of a oversized 800 series 4x12.

I'm interested in the Memphis. Give me a call or text if you get a chance.

I had a couple of them. Celestion’s answer to the EVM12L. The two I had were wildly different from each other. They were cool but not my fav so I sold em. Cut through the mix well recorded. But everything they did, EVM12L did better.
